I have a huge center and i had to lift my TV up to fit it in.. I took a shelf ,Skinned it with speaker cloth and put the shelf on it`s side. The Plasma is on top of it and secured from the wall to the Plasma. If iam trying to make a point it would be(and remember this is just my opinion) I would Never let a stand determine what kind of speaker or speaker size i could buy. The center speaker is pretty important when it comes to home theater.I would get the one i want Is there any way you could bracket the TV to the wall(freeing up space on the top of your stand ![]() Last edited by ozzman; 08-18-2009 at 03:45 PM. |

This is a pic from my photo bucket.
Before i bought my Mirage center i had a PSB center and Before that a Paradigm CC-270. I built a shelf over my TV and place my center there. This is my old Paradigm center Iam just trying to make you aware of some possibilities you might have http://i674.photobucket.com/albums/v...peakers205.jpg http://i674.photobucket.com/albums/v...newpics001.jpg Last edited by ozzman; 08-18-2009 at 03:14 PM. |

I need some advice. I have a Yamaha 7.2 reciever interconnected (Staightwire musicable interconnects) to an Anthem MCA 30 which powers my 2 fronts (studio 60s) and center (CC-590) using Straightwire Octave II speaker cable. The sound seems very smooth with added punch in the lower frequency range but the highs seem held back. Does anyone have any experience with Straightwire speaker cables or know of any good cables that cover the whole sound frequency range with these type of speakers.

I consider myself a beginner to HT and am no expert but I have been trying different things to see how little things could make a difference. I'm still trying to learn from experience rather than reading about stuff and can't suggest better cables but someone might be able to give you an answer in this thread. Sorry couldn't help much but hope you find a solution. |

I've had the Octave II cables since Feb/09 and put in well over 80hrs of use.
I previously owned the Straightwire musicable cables which enhanced the highs much better but lacked in the lower frequency range which was the reason for the switch. The Straightwire sailsmen recommended I switch to the Octaves and even accepted a trade in of my old cables to promote this upgrade. The Octave II are good cables and all I just wasn't aware that they would tone down the brightness of my speakers this much. By the way I like your classy Hometheater setup! Man is the CC-690 huge! |

Thanks for the compliments! As for the speaker cables, if you're really not enjoying the sound maybe your salesman will let you try different ones since he already let you do an upgrade - unless it's just a small thing for you that doesn't bother you too much.

At some point I'll also get either two more ADP-390s for the rear surrounds or maybe I'll settle for the 190s. Right now I'm using my old fronts for my surrounds, and my old surrounds for my rear surrounds. It's pretty nice sounding already, but I can't wait for the ADP-390s. ![]() KM |

I have Studio 60's v2, a Studio CC center, ADP170's side and Atoms rear. My question is, I was thinking of putting Studio ADP590's on the sides and moving the ADP170's to the rear to replace the Atoms. in people's opinion (or maybe experience) would it make much of a difference to replace the 170's with the 590's ?
