Default OS Update

MS points be gone.

Other than that, minor color pallet changes as well as Xbox 360 graphic on sign-in screen.

Am I missing anything else?

No more family gold, which means I can't piggyback on my sister's account for Gold.

Well, I was a bit confused as to why no points or currency was showing on their website under my account so I went through the checkout of an item I wasn't going to buy to see what happens. It was during confirm purchase where I was hit with 2 onscreen prompts to confirm the point transfer to local currency change.

I guess in other words, it doesn't convert the points for you. Also noted tax. local tax... Which is 12% where I'm at.

So does that mean its official ala if you want Gold, every individual has to pay the same price... Like a.. 2 people in same house want Gold for a year.. that's $120?

No, they changed the design of the family pack so that it's the the person on the gold console allows people on silver accounts access to gold if they are on the same console. You can't share gold to different members that would be in different households like in the previous Family Gold plan.

http://www.polygon.com/2013/8/11/461...ccounts-aug-27

Meaning Little Johnny and his babysitter can play Gears of War online from his Dad's Xbox, but a 21 year old college student being shared gold from his sister living in Iowa won't work anymore. Meaning I have to resubscribe to gold if I want to continue using it. They said affected users will get 3 extra months of Gold, but I'm not sure if I want to continue since I don't play enough live to warrant it, and I'm not warming up too much on the Xbox One.

Oh ok, thanks for clearing that up.

I have no problems with it, but I can see how those scenarios would affect others. Sorry.

I'm just familiar with MS Family Plans in the aspect of one main account & second, third etc being associated to that main account at a discounted price under the same roof.

Even during the beta for this dashboard update, no one could figure out why they bothered having a beta. Seems like all they did was kill points and change a color or two, when most people joined the beta thinking it was going to be a change to the Xbox One style dash like they hinted at. Total letdown.

So is xbox live tied to the console itself now?

How does that work with people like me who have three consoles and store the profile on a USB stick depending on where they want to watch netflix or play games?

Yeah they went with the same tone green as Xbox One. My biggest gripe was seeing my home town tax of 12% extra added on.

Xbox Live is the only way around License Transfers.

In your case, if you can sign in Online on all 3 consoles (Not at same time) using the USB Flash.. then no worries.

Yeah... as much as I wasn't a fan of MS points and the dance of having to buy more than you needed sometimes, seeing tax on my digital purchases now is kind of a kick in the balls.

To be fair, that blame rests on the politicians and not MS or anyone else.

Oh, I'll give you that... but still, it was like, "Yay, points are gone! Wait... AWWW..."

Heads up, Netflix on the Xbox had just updated the interface getting ready for the Xbox One.
