Would this be a real reboot, or a straight remake, as the sequels were never that great...2 was okay, but 3-4 were just awful CGI.

I remember that film when I was much younger and it frightened me a bit, though I thought it was good, but I'm not sure how I'll view it now lol

This is a good premise!

This is a good premise!
The activists are the heroes, except for one who secretly works with the land developer. He or she will then have a change of heart, before being eaten by the snakes. One of the activists will be a child, niece/nephew or grand child of the developer.

The snakes communicate on their Slither social media app.

"Hiss49 Hey you hungry?"
"TongueFlick92 What you got?"
"Hiss49 Bunch of humans on a boat. Heading down river."
"TongueFlick92 Again? What is this, four or five times now?"
"Hiss49 I know rite..."
"TongueFlick92 Awesssome."

I really enjoy the original Anaconda. Except for the cartoonish CGI snake, it's a fun and solid creature feature. Hell, I'd rather they use a portion of the budget for this unnecessary reboot to go back and polish the VFX of the first one.

I suppose we have the moderate success of Crawl to thank for this? In any case, I hope they make a good, gritty horror like that one, and not a clown-fest like most posters here seem to want.

Loved the first two Anaconda films, cheesy or not. They were great creature flicks.

I wouldn't mind seeing a reboot/remake with better CGI.

It's the atmosphere of the river, jungle, etc. that hooks me every time. Maybe they will throw in some ancient ruins this time.

How about James Cameron and his crew dive down again to the wreck of the Titanic, only to discover it is now populated by giant Amazon pythons.

Titanicondas?

I believe this is playing on Starz if you have the app. The single episodes are still on Tubi. https://tubitv.com/search/gi%20joe

The first two Anaconda films were basically entertaining B-movie creature feature cheese.
If they're gonna do this, they have to retain that vibe and not go the deep dark route many of these horror movies seem to be going down nowadays.

I think the first movie holds up great and I've always the CG was fantastic for the budget and when it was made.
