I also thought the story of XC2 was better and got me in the feels more...despite Rex’s voice actor trying to ruin it all with his performance.

I‘ll be starting up Future Connected tomorrow.
that certainly is an unpopular opinion. I like XC2 too also though I feel the story & characters are better in the first game.

I checked in with a buddy of mine who was playing through this for the first time too and he agreed that he is leaning towards 2 being better...so that makes two of lunatics now . It's not a massive gap between the two by any means but the story of 2 just resonated with me more for some reason. If only Adam Howden was the voice actor for Rex instead of the guy they did pick.

I liked the voice of Rex, thought it fit the character pretty good.

I don’t disagree with that but he struggled heavily with the more demanding/emotional scenes. His “joiiiiin me” in Chapter 7 or 8 is the one that sticks out in my memory as terrible. Meanwhile I thought Howden had a great performance for those types of moments. Granted, it could come down to bad direction possibly but I’m not sure what else the actor has done off hand to compare.
