I still think the 4K UHD disc blows the SDR disc out of the water in 2019..

2020 here. Happy new year beeeatches!

I didn't directly compare it to the Blu but its still one of the worst 4ks I own out of around 70. It might be the worst if i didn't own T2. I have avoided buying most questionable releases thus far though and I hear Thor 1 might be worse. Its still not terrible all things considered and for like $4 after selling the digital code I ain't complaining.

This may have already been covered. BUT how does the Disney streaming 4K version compare to the UHD?

The UHD is much better than the BD. The BD was decent, but wasn't breathtaking. A side-by-side comparison shows how much of an improvement the UHD is. With that said, is it anywhere near as gorgeous as Guardians 1/2? No.

I have all of my Marvel stuff up for trade though. I bought them thinking I'd watch them and they just sit on my shelf. When I do watch them, I am just not as interested in them as I used to be since I can't share them with my kids (they are too young) and my wife isn't a huge fan of them. Meh.

Not seeing those flaws others have. Thought it was a pretty good looking disc with some good usage of itís HDR. Hadnít seen the film in years so it was nice to revisit it in this format.

I have a question for those of you that didn't have any issues with the Atmos track and don't mind having to bump up the volume. How does this compare to say, Spider-Man: Far From Home or Thor: Ragnarok UHD editions? While not reference, those still sounded excellent in my setup, but I just want to make sure before I start double-dipping on all the MCU UHD films (starting with Irom Man) if I can expect similar results.

And please, no need to debate this, I have zero issues with the releases that have been deemed "Atmouse", so I'm only asking those that had similar experience.

I haven't picked up any of phase one or two on UHD outside of (LOLz) Incredible Hulk due to my hopes that the Mouse House will see fit to release a more economical, non-limited Infinity Saga set.

That said, I still find the original blu of this title to be very very strong.

Does the UHD at least contain a superior encode of the upscaled master?

with the original disc being paramount, how is the 5.1 audio in the Blu-ray release? is it borked like the Atmos mix on the 4K? or is it a clone of the Paramount mix (which was jaw dropping and powerful). got the steelbook and wanted to know if I should substitute in my Paramount disc or if the Blu-ray included in the set was the same sonically

(same question for the other 2 sequels as they were paramount mixes too).

Itís just the principle though. A company with literally unlimited resources and access to every piece of tech they could ever want is too cheap and lazy to do releases the right way. Their discs end up being as if they came from a startup garage operation. Total joke.

4K is supposed to be the pinnacle of the home media format. The best. No debate. Yet, a lot of these releases are simply a letdown. People can do as they wish and like I said, it ainít the few bucks difference itís the idea of them putting out a shoddy product. Sucks that Disney has to buy up like ever studio. Their 4K tracks record is just bad.

Well said. There are few exceptions but majority of the Atmos track on the UHD have been underwhelming.

As someone said it felt like a revelation upon watching Godzilla KOTM after sitting through half a dozen Disney UHDs lol.

Do you mean the Blu in the 4K set? It IS the Paramount disc, just with Disnee disc art.

Right? The audio is another sore spot.

Iím sure there wonít ever be another release of any of these films on UHD again so itís take or leave it. Itís just frustrating. If they hit the bargain bin I could be tempted but part of me wants to learn to say no to mediocre UHD releases.

With Disney+, its hard to buy, even at $10. I finally got a Dolby Vision set and I would miss that.

Run your AVR in Direct mode and listen to the TrueHD 7.1 core mix from the Atmos track. It is actually better than the 5.1 mix on the Blu-ray.

The Atmos is another Disney Atmouse which is a disgrace to the MCU movies.

Isn't Doctor Strange $19.99?

I bought 2 copies of the 3 Iron Man 4K Steelbooks, Frozen and The Lion king 2019 for me and a friend. 10 good and recently released 4K steelbooks for $115.70 (including tax) is unheard of I think lol
