It is strange lol. I love the artwork for that one too, I don't think I've seen it before. Looking into it, it appears that they're all Mondo posters. Would be cool if they became Mondo Steelbook releases elsewhere (in English)

To this day I have no idea why Katie Holmes chose to do Mad Money over The Dark Knight.

Probably because she read the script and thought to herself... Wait I fall 90 stories and batman flips over underneath me and we smash into a car and I somehow live. That's the stupidest thing I ever read.

At least I'd like to think that's how it happened because that is still the stupidest shit I have ever seen in a movie.

Holmes not being in it is one of the reasons I don't really like TDK.

I'm not a mega fan of TDK but Maggie is one of my favourite things about it. I'd have loved to see Katie Holmes return but Maggie brings something different yet still feels like the girl that Bruce fell in love with.

I don't have anything against Gyllenhaal, but she's no Holmes. It just feels (too) different. And besides that, I really hate it when they recast actors/actresses for the sequel(s) whatever the reason might be.

It was. Holmes was offered the chance to reprise her role by Christopher Nolan but she turned it down to do Mad Money instead. Itís about as stupid a career choice as Will Smith choosing Wild Wild West over The Matrix.

She chose to be in Jack and Jill.

It might have been released with the original name there. It was released as Batman Begins here in Finland and the other two movies were translated.

1. The Dark Knight
2. The Dark Knight Returns
3. Batman Begins
4. Batman Returns
5. Batman v Superman
6. Batman Forever (I have a soft spot for this movie)
7. Batman
8. Batman: The Movie
9. Batman & Robin

I can re-watch almost all of these movies except Batman & Robin. I also really like some of the animated Batman movies such as Son of Batman, Batman vs. Robin, & Batman: Bad Blood to name a few. I don't like mixing live action and animation in the same lists.

Batman has really turned into another James Bond franchise, where different leading men can put on the suit. The character has a lot of versatility depending on how Gotham is used as a backdrop.

I will say that much like James Bond, Batman should always be a man. I don't think he has to be only white. He can be any ethnicity as long as the actor is believable. But Batman's characteristics (like Bond) don't make sense in the roll of a female.

If you think I'm being sexist.... Here is the WOMAN in charge of the James Bond franchise saying that Bond has to be male.... https://www.irishpost.com/news/james...ys-male-166218

Maybe the critical backlash against Holmes' performance in BEGINS put her off returning to the role? She had a sweet naivety which Gyllenhaal's more mature take on the character lost.

Oh well.........

01) The Dark Knight
02) The Dark Knight Rises
03) Batman
04) Batman Begins
05) Batman Returns
06) Batman Forever
07) Batman & Robin
08) Batman: The movie

Haven't still watched the two 40s serials.
And given we're talking about Batman-centric live-action movies, BvS doesn't belong (plus, it'd be near the Shumacher ones), so does not the animated stuff,
[Show spoiler]which I'd rank separately like this:

01) Batman: Mask of the phantasm
02) Batman: Under the Red Hood
03) Batman: The Dark Knight Returns
04) Batman: Year One
05) Batman: Gotham by Gaslight
06) Batman: Assault on Arkham
07) Batman: The Killing Joke
08) Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
09) Batman: SubZero
10) The Batman vs. Dracula
11) Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman
12) Batman: Ninja
13) Batman and Harley Quinn

And I still miss several titles.

I know right? That's what I keep asking myself. Warner Italy was highly incoherent when they released the sequels....
