So... what are your thoughts on the quality of the film? I know it didn't have the best reception back in the day, but is it viewed differently now? Just asking because I may blind buy this one. Is it more drama, action?

The film is amazing, always had been. A must for fans of post apocalyptic cinema and 90s big budget movies.

I'm incredibly biased though as this has been one of my all time favourite movies since 1995.

Yeah...Waterworld and Last Action Hero unfairly became pop culture jokes and cool to hate on at the time. I always liked them both.

I watched it for the first time when the 4K came out, and I loved it. It's a great action movie with a lot of heart, and its overall premise is surprisingly relevant to today.

I have to say though, the Ulysses cut is the definitive version for me, rather than the 4K theatrical.

Very honestly up for debate. Both have their virtues over the other. Thatís why the fact that the Arrow exclusively offers the Ulysses Cut makes it the superior release, in my book.

There are certifiable loons around here that will argue the point, but trust me, the Ulysses Cut obliterates the theatrical cut.

They sure do weave a good defence for the theatrical though

Back in 95' the theater near me played this one week in a double feature with The Net. I don't know how but I convinced my mom to drive a halfhour each way 3 days in a row to drop me off to watch them. She was awesome. I loved Waterworld. I saw it a 4th time with my dad too.

Lol this might be the biggest waste of potential for any movie ever. They should have called it quits after the set sank.

It is no Ace Ventura 2, that's for sure.

Almost as cheesy and it wasn't even trying to be a comedy. Also costs millions of dollars for mediocre Pirates of The Caribbean levels.

Ride or die theatrical. I can't believe the gall of some people to go so far as saying the UC is somehow so objectively better that you are a "loon" for preferring the TC. Okay.

Loon til I die.
