Isn't Pulp Fiction with LG? They have been pretty good with catalog titles so far and surely Pulp Fiction would be one of the best sellers on the format.

LG or Canal are definitely gonna give us Pulp Fiction. While the existing Blu still looks great...I wanna see what Marsellus Wallace looks like in 4K.

Yes, because they picked up the Miramax library for distribution a while back.

Now I am hoping for an uncut version:

[Show spoiler]
Quote:
Finnish VHS release is cut by 1 minute. Notable cuts were:
  • Tony Dogs being tortured with the vice
  • Baseball bat killings
The version shown in Swedish cinemas in 1996 removed 43 meters of footage (the vice torture and baseball beatings).
There are two network television versions: the original 3-hour theatrical cut minus objectionable footage, and a re-edited 140 minute version put together under sole supervision of original director Martin Scorsese.

Scorsese shot the violent scenes as gory as possible, knowing that the MPAA would order a slew of cuts. He knew that some of the gore would be allowed to pass, but he figured the bloodier his first cut was, the more they'd allow for the R-rated version. Sadly, they ordered more cuts than he counted on, and that's why the baseball bat sequence looks as choppy and hacked-up as it does (gory as it still is).

If Universal really wanted to sell the 4K release, they'd include the unrated version as an option. Unfortunately, because it's Universal and they're notoriously stodgy about such things, that'll never happen.

I saw Casino when it first came out in the cinema. Wasn't the theatrical version uncut, and all subsequent (ie home video) versions trimmed?

Nah, this will sell just fine since it’s a masterpiece and arguably one of the best films of that decade. The editing by Schoonmaker is brilliant.

Here we go with the uncut sloblock, if it's the current cut then I'm fine with that

Great news. The old VC-1 HD-DVD port, while not terrible, could really do with an upgrade. Hopefully they don't mess this one up.

I'm still rocking that HD DVD, albeit ripped onto a Blu-ray, and it really does look decent for what it is. A properly handled 4K transfer should marmelise it tho

The theatrical cut is great, no question. However, it would definitely be nice to see Scorsese's original version. I can't fathom the attitude of anyone who would have no interest in that.

I love Goodfellas, always have, and iv got Casino aswell on Blu-Ray, but iv only played it once. Goodfellas is very easy to sit and watch but I find Casino abit of a drag or effort to wanna to get through. Altho might be because i didnt ever get myself to become familiar with Casino through the years like i did with Goodfellas or havnt been in the mood or mindset to wanna sit through it lately.

But in regards to the actual Blu-Ray itself id of thought surely this will be a cleaned up new transfer because the release as it stands now is a very speckled image. Loads of people would be unhappy if that speckling remained id of thought. Or would make it abit of a redundant release if the damage is still there. Well, redundant for a regular Blu-Ray anyway, maybe not so much for 4k seeing as it will be it's first time on 4k.
