I will give this movie a chance. My biggest issue isn't with Captain Marvel, it is how Marvel/Disney botched the Infinity Wars story line. Captain Marvel wasn't even in the comic editions, and it is Adam Warlock that saves the day....not Captain Marvel.

It's like it's a whole new story and like all other MCU films just uses the comics as inspiration for something fresh

For the 359th time, no one has said Captain Marvel is going to be the one to kill Thanos. These are made up delusions in one sub-section of the internet’s heads.

So, for the 360th time then, it's simple math. Adam Warlock isn't even in the movies.

Isn't this way too early to be correct? Release date even before Captain America CW and Captain America TWS. I suppose it must be a mistake by cduniverse.com.

No way April 16 is the release date. I'd be surprised if we get this before July.

Don't worry, there are to many other movies to be purchased so you can buy as many copies as you want.

This'll have a July release if I were taking a guess. Endgame in August, like Infinity War last year.

I saw this in Dolby Vision and thought it looked really cool! The UHD should be sweet.

Generally, I find the top reviewers to be of much higher quality than the masses of reviews you find on Rotten Tomatoes. I'm surprised how down the top reviewers are so far on Captain Marvel.

Top Reviewers: 61% positive.
The Rest: 89% positive.

All in on the Marvel universe thus far, but I gotta say, this is one of the two that I am just not into.

I'll definitely give it a chance as I like Brie Larsen, but not sure that the trailers make this too appealing to me.

I dunno. Maybe I am just a superhero populist that likes the major superheroes only - Iron Man, Captain, Hulk, Black Widow, etc.

It takes place in 1995. I have no idea if that clears it up (know nothing about jets) but there you go.

I'll probably see it. But I have little nostalgia for the '90s.

Though you do have a time when a lot of female acts were popular - either singer/songwriters or female-fronted bands. You could get multiple soundtracks out of that. But I don't really need to watch a movie from 2019 to get a '90s vibe. I can do that watching actual movies and TV shows from that time.

I thought it was supposed to be in the 80s? At any rate, F-22s and F-35s in 1995 is still wrong; neither existed then. The F-22 program was well under way by then, but no jets had been made; the first flight wasn't until 1997 and service entry in 2005. As for the F-35, 1995 was when the JSF program was started, so it wouldn't even have been on the drawing board at that time.

I just try and roll with the anachronistic stuff, but sometimes it is a bit hard.

What’s funny is, Marvel has been doing more military consulting on their films as of late, which they made with the DOJ, I believe—and in turn, the military probably gets a nice contribution and promotion from Marvel.

I wouldn’t be surprised in the Air Force pushed showing off the F-35, despite the time period it was sent in, both because of the controversy surrounding how long it took to make those things functional, as well as wanting to show off the latest they have to offer in terms of tech and engineering.
