Do any of you think the Extended Director's Cut of The Fate of the Furious is better or worse than the theatrical cut? Please explain why or why not.

I just saw the pre-order listing and this was the first thing that came to mind. Don't understand why Universal keeps releasing sets in these digibook/digipak that are so prone to disc scratches. The Mummy 4K set, Jurassic Park set, and now this.

I think it was better because it makes the film flow better with small jokes here and there, but don't think the cuts they made for the theatrical release are essential.

Definitely tempted as I only have a few of these movies, and NOT in 4K. Plus I'll sell the codes.

I still can't believe how stupid it is that the extended cut is not available physically, especially because it's not the case for every other Universal movie with two different versions out there. They had ALWAYS managed to include both cuts on the same disc.

$85 for 8 movies in 4K, that’s a steal as I’m finally purchasing a 4K TV this summer.

The extended cut of Fast Five is the only worthy one to watch, it has added blood & more of the Hobbs character. I’m pretty sure The Fate extended cut is really just an extended version of the Hobbs & Shaw fight scene.

Actually, no. The extended cut of The Fate of the Furious is 12 to 13 minutes longer than the theatrical cut.

More then the movies?

This price per movie isn't bad, but already own 1, 8 in 4K. Only really want 2, 5, maybe 6 & 7 too (but can hold off on those). The price for the single releases are about where you expect them. I'll prob just wait it out for sales down the road hopefully.

While I agree that 8 movies on UHD at $85 is a steal, Universal UHD boxsets have dropped in price pretty significantly months after release.

The Bourne Collection has been as low as $39 whereas the four-film Jurassic Park set was $19 this past Black Friday.

On record I don't want boxsets no matter the price if movies just won't get watched. And I despise #4, and #3 is a once a blue moon watch...

So far 1 & 2, 5, 7, 8 is my purchase order. Can view 6 at a friends after I buy/view Fast Five the first time, then see if I want that the follow up. Weren't one of these plagued with audio track shortcoming? That's another minus in the column for these.
