They said Blu-ray was doomed after the format war too.

Well, we knew it was coming even before the Arrow was released but nice to see it get a street date.

The theatrical cut is my jam, so i'll be a very happy boy even if they omit the Ulysses. The Arrow disc is good but still nuked a lot of the highlight detail. A nice HDR grade should rectify that.

This won't have the extra cuts.

I'd bet good money you're right. And I couldn't care less

I watched both the Ulysses and theatrical the other week and I understand why people dig the UC but it's not the movie i've known and loved for the last 20+ years.

This hurts a bit as I too have just bought and seen the Arrow release.
Ahh well, depending on the quality of this release, maybe I'll buy this too - even if it's just the theatrical cut.

Also got the Arrow at the B&N sale, so saved a little, but wth, 4K six months later?

If this is only one cut, then that Arrow’s still a good buy.

The UC was never a big deal to me. It didn't add all that much to the movie as far as I could tell. If this gets a US release, I'm there.

It didn't add enough to make me care that it added more to a movie I already liked.

I bought the Arrow. I will buy the 4K. Not a shred of buyer's remorse here as there's not a chance in hell the UHD is going to include all the extras from the Arrow set (hell, the UHD will probably be the theatrical cut only) and the pack-in BD will probably be the existing Universal one too.

Right there with you! Another one off my wishlist. This year isn't as epic as last so far, but it's great to see the catalog expanding

Snore... "The only way this gets a sale" talk is so DVD/blu-ray era. But you keep doing you with that entitlement claptrap.

Go ahead and check my collection list any time you want after this comes out and you won’t ever see the UHD there (presuming it only features the theatrical cut, which I think is a 99% certainty). You call it entitlement, I’ll call it voting with my dollars. I would rather have a 1080p version of the UC (especially considering Arrow’s masterful transfer, which pushes BD quality nearly to its limit) than a 2160p version of the TC. If your mileage varies, then by all means, you do you.

The entitlement narrative is always running for people who clearly aren't as in touch with reality as I, but when they also are outright silly nonces like this (above quote) in suggesting a user just isn't paying attention to something subjective; like which cut is better and how good someone is at comprehending X... then I won't give a dimes worth of latitude calling them that which is in my mind.
