Hoping this turns out well. The trailer I saw in front of Captain Marvel looked fine.

I think it will turn out well and may end up being the best comic book of the year (it's certainly my most anticipated movie of the year). That's a tall order though as Endgame certainly has that locked up right now and I actually prefer the X-Men movies over the Marvel ones. They're not as grand in scope, but that actually plays to its advantage and is one of the things I like about the movies. The kitchen sink approach that Marvel has doesn't always work for me (and it sure didn't for most movie/comic book fans with Spider-Man 3 for example). And Endgame certainly is the worst offender in this, but damn if it doesn't work like a f'ing charm.

Nothing's beating Endgame, even the live-action Spidey vs. Mysterio movie I've been waiting years for.

I forgot Mysterio's coming to the big screen. I don't know now. I think in the end both Spider-Man: Far From Home and Dark Phoenix could overthrow Endgame. I love Endgame so much, but Mysterio beats anything out there period. Even the X-Men. Mysterio's my second favorite comic book character.

This wasn't really on my radar but the pre-Endgame trailer caught my interest. In fact, pretty much all the pre-Endgame trailers (this, Godzilla, Skywalker...) caught my interest. Gonna be an expensive year at the movies (sorry my wife and child, that new insulation we so desperately need in our home will have to wait until next year).

Shouldn't this be a Disney release and not a Fox one? This will be the first Fox film to be distributed by Disney and not Fox (although Fox's logo will be the only logo at the start of the film like with Lucasfilm and Marvel).

This is probably the most interesting 4K release of the year for me, because it's going to be our first indicator of what Fox 4K releases under Disney will be like.

Given that the mastering for this stuff usually takes place when they're actually finishing up the movie proper - in this case while the movie was still very much a Fox joint - then I don't see how Disney will be able to put much of a stamp on it.

Heh, I quite liked Apocalypse. It's so gloriously daffy.

I'd watch Apocalypse over The Last Stand or X-Men Origins: Wolverine any day.

Apocalypse is perfunctory, not great but not as bad as everyone pretends it is.

The only bad one is the first Wolverine, but even that one I don't really hate.
