I imagine some are direct ports of the original sound encodes for Blu-ray, since it appears Sony is using the same subtitle tracks as well - Air Force One has the same repeated "They're landing" translation error - instead of the proper "If they land we're finished" - the reissued Blu-ray has (though the original audio has been re-encoded from TrueHD to DTS-MA).

If movie is going to UHD I'd rather Atmos or DTS X then the older original audio.

Released in 2001, but I might start adding titles up to present.

I don't get this. So theaters without a SDDS decoder couldn't play the film?

I find that hard to believe

It had a Dolby SR mix too, which is what 99% of people would've heard in the cinemas at the time.

Up until I believe late 1997 with Starship Troopers, the only way you could ever hear a Sony movie in digital audio was SDDS. Most of the studios at that time were formatted agnostic, but Sony was exclusively SDDS. Universal and MGM were exclusively DTS. It was a strange, pointless format war that finally went away around 1998

I specified Dolby Digital or DTS formats.

You know well all these films had an analog 2.0 soundtrack on all prints with the sole exception of early CDS releases which had dual inventory.

So the original post was correct: Dolby SR is analog not digital

Yes, but we're talking original audio on the 4K disc - the DTS-MA 5.1 track does not represent a Dolby SR 2.0 track. It represents the SDDS 5.1 mix.

Discotek's UHD of Cagliostro will have the original Japanese Mono in DTS-HD MA 1.0 like the standard BD. (I do freelance work for them, and can confirm they will have it... unless something changes at the last minute, but for now, including it is the plan.)

There should be a thread on UHD BDs that don't have the original audio in lossless form.

That would be moot since this list exists already.
