The Pearl Harbor that grossed $449M worldwide, that Pearl Harbor?

I thought they were referencing the real life event.

Peal Harbor depicted many fictional events in the film, it wasn't 100% factual, like most movies that suppose to be based on true stories. They're part fact and part fiction.

Early tracking has this for an opening of 12 million and a possible total of 60 million.
This has a rumored budget of 95 million so that would be considered a loss on this movie...

These are guesses of course so we will see how this does in theaters.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I think this film is going to be a hit. We've actually sold more advance tickets for this than Star Wars, granted we attract more of a "grey audience" here but it's had more interest than even Downton Abbey so far.

If Cats outperforms Star Wars, the Fandom Menace will have a field day with this. I kinda hope it happens.

Thereís no way this outdoes Star Wars. My bet is it bombs. Iíll see it but Iím skeptical (even with those involved).

I'm not saying I think it will actually outgross Star Wars I just think people are underestimating how much of a hit this is going to be. Even if it gets terrible reviews it's still going to do very well (here in the UK at least).

Star Wars and Cats are two entirely different genres of films. One is sci-fi and the other is a musical. That's like comparing apples to oranges at the box office.

Saw the trailer in the theater a couple of times, very unappealing. My nine year old granddaughter wants to see it though, but I told her she can watch it when it comes to Netflix.

I am aware they are different genres. They are however opening on the same date. That's why I was comparing them.

I suspect this gets a bump from people who are curious to see if it's as big of a train wreck as the advertising has made it look. It's the car wreck rubberneck syndrome. Maybe a small bump from people protesting Star Wars as well, but I think most of those folks are all bark and no bite so I doubt it even registers.

I’d love to see this musical do well, so if it bombs I fear we won’t get a a good version of it for years, if ever.

I didn't think of that as it's in rather poor taste. It's like saying "this movie slams harder than the Twin Towers did" or some such shite.
