I like it more than Hannibal. Manhunter? No, but with Hopkins involved it pairs with the other films much better. Manhunter is too stylish compared to Silence of the Lambs.
And so much better for it. And Brian Cox is 10x better than hammy Hopkins.

Hannibal is decent. The only bad Lecter movies are RD and Rising.

Wonder if Lonely Are The Brave will be updated as having a UHD. I mean they did say they had 3 UHDs in the pipeline.

It’s not. If you read through the thread, Kino Lorber Insider has said that it’s a newer title, and it’s a title that Universal already released on Blu-ray. Lonely Are the Brave doesn’t fit either of those bills. And while KLSC has three titles in the works, only one of them is from Universal. The other two are part of a different deal.

I wouldn’t expect anything all that risky or out of left field. It’ll almost certainly be a big movie or have some other compelling reason to get a UHD nod (sequel, remake, whatever). If they’re only looking at one Universal title at the moment, they’re going to try to make that one shot count.

I'm gonna go ahead and throw my guessing chip on Inglourious Basterds.

Inglourious Basterds definitely ticks all the boxes mentioned by Kino Lorber, but it looks like that's been licensed by another label:

This has to be Arrow's first UHD, right? It already has a very good 1080p disc...

Will probably be a Crimson Peak situation. Same transfer, a couple of minor new extras and fancy deluxe packaging.

I wonder if "2000s" means "2000-2009" or just "2000 and on".

If I had one guess: Pitch Black (although we know that Ballyhoo is working on new extras, which would seem to point to an Arrow or Scream Factory release)
My delusional wish: Josie and the Pussycats

I reckon it means "from 2000-2009". Anyhoo, another tiny little sliver of info from the KL thread:

Yes.

Yes (kind of).

Yes.
Note the last question re: the impending 4K disc from the '00s. Kind of an odd question but I can see what they're getting at, like 'is the UHD going to be from a noted director'? And from looking through the list of Noughties titles that were made by Universal or that they have US rights to then only a few stand out, and some have rights that are seemingly unavailable anyway e.g. Land of the Dead is with Shout, Mulholland Drive is with Criterion.

There are a couple of Michael Mann's movies in there (Miami Vice and Public Enemies, plus The Kingdom which he produced), a Best Picture Oscar winner in Ron Howard's A Beautiful Mind, Senor Spielbergo is also represented with Munich, you've got an older Mendes/Deakins team-up in Jarhead (which has had several DTV sequels so must have some appeal), but the one I keep returning to is Cuaron's Children of Men. Yes, Arrow licensed it but that appears to be for the UK only so it should be fair game for a US distributor, and because o' the Arrow we already know it's one that Uni will happily license out.

Miami Vice had been rumored for a UHD release last year. Could have been unloaded into this deal perhaps?

That would certainly be an interesting UHD for the HDR alone.

I asked KLI if there was any Jim Carrey or Clive Owen movies in the Universal deal and he said no, so we can cross Eternal Sunshine & Children of Men off the list.
