Onkyo HT-R680..Heat issues?? - Blu-ray Forum

I have the Onkyo 7.1 set up, which includes the HT-R680 receiver...This thing gets extremely hot!!..I have put a little usb fan on the back of the entertainment center to cool it down a bit...My problem is, even when it's "off" it's still pretty hot!..How and and why is this possible??..I don't want to run the fan ALL day and night long, even when the receiver is off..Do I have a defective model??

I also have that Onkyo HTiB receiver and it also runs extremely hot. Doesn't matter where i put it. I read somewhere that its normal for it to get somewhat hot but mine feels like i could cook an ege on it.
