Watched The Sadness (vanilla German Blu-Ray not 4K) tonight. Grotesque, gory fun. Nothing particularly original but thrilling in places and the gore fx were well done.

Two zombie/virus films in the space of a few days for me!

Wendell, avoid. The camera stuttered and juddered (for effect). I feel it may have been a bit frantic for your taste.

Have you considered not being an agitator ?

I'll never know why you are tolerated on this site while you campaign against physical media. Be glad someone still likes you apparently.

In case you haven't looked recently, this site is much more than just physical media.

And I do not consider him a friend by any means. Nor you for that that matter.

If you don't like my posts - go cry to a Mod.

If the mods wanted to be useful they would recognize you only post to campaign against physical media and antagonize anyone who enjoys it.

They should perma ban you for the sake of everyone. I didn't cry to the mods but I reported the agressive post in which you told someone to "pound sand" and another post where you called someone a liar.

Please learn a few communication skills for use wherever you go after they figure out you are nothing but negative here.

Physical media has superior video and audio bitrate. That makes a difference imo. The audio not so much, but the video yes. That's why I have stuck to physical media. Not only that, these companies remove stuff from streaming services all the time. Even cloud purchases like Apple or VUDU, what's to say they couldn't just go in and shut all that off and say "Sorry you never actually 'owned' it, you only bought the right to use it as long as it was available." I can't see Apple going out of business, but nothing is impossible. VUDU has already been sold once.

People can enjoy whatever they want, but those of us who know the difference appreciate physical media. Better quality, you actually own/control the copy you bought... For collector editions like Criterion, Arrow, Shout Factory, etc; those things come with all the nice packaging, maintain value years later. I sold a couple of my Criterions and actually made a profit.

Streaming just doesn't measure up. I'm on a 300up/300down fiber connection, wired directly into my streamer (Roku Streambar Pro) and Apple and Disney streams look nice (not quite as good as the same content on disc) but very good. Netflix is just downright awful to me. And the more and more people they get on these services, I think they'll have to reduce the bitrate to make the streams more efficient and reliable.

Plus what do you have to subscribe to - 4 or 5 different services to get everything you want? You're spending something like $50-60 a month for access to all of that, plus another $65-70 if you want streaming TV like YoutubeTV or Hulu Live TV. I don't buy very many discs, but I think I'd probably save money even if I was buying like 2 discs a month.

I very much look forward to the Mods reviewing all the posts in question. They won't have the bias that all of you do.

Here's what they will see . . . all of you making it personal. That won't make them take your side Brian.

And maybe they will finally close this topic thread because it has lost it's meaning. It was supposed to be a discussion of PM vs Digital but you all chase anyone off this thread that supports Digital. All it's become is a half a dozen member showing what content they bought.

Sorry Brian - no PMs - you want to discuss something - discuss it right here. I deleted it before I read it.

I'm definitely looking forward to that as well.

Thanks Lee and Mods,

Brian

PS all of us have a bias? All of us make it personal ? .... Which one of us calls another a liar? Which one of us suggest another go pound sand ? I know you want the thread closed but dream on (preferably somewhere else).

Folks don’t laugh at your post because they are ha ha , they laugh in a pity kind of way, you get it or you don’t. Some here have large displays with multi-channel sound and really love their collecting for home entertainment. They most likely are the positive type, you appear to be a negative type so you always clash with them/us. The thing about positive people they become more determined when confronted with a negative.

Look at it like this, a successful rancher with 100 cattle does not take kindly to a rancher trying to tell him how to ranch when that rancher has managed to only have 17 cattle.

Guys,

... (removed ... calmed down ... no longer trigggered.)

I'm sorry to be arguing here. I will try harder to be better. I don't take back the part about how I love it here and enjoy your company. I try but today I got triggered and that's wrong.

I disagree, positive people seem to always provide info that benefits others so you would be missed here.

Let's all try and calm down a bit. There is no need for anyone to leave this site/thread.

most people in this thread like streaming/digital DL content most people in this thread like watching content on physical media.

Basically saying - If they don't ban him this time, I'm going away. It's not personal and I enjoy and love to be here. I'm more here than anywhere but I can't stay if he stays .... he's just a troll and I can't deal with it.

Looked at one scene via YouTube. I'm OK with cheap horror but only if they use at least a tripod with the camera.

Three other things that annoy me: lens flares, people walking between the camera and subject of a scene, camera on a Jimmy Jib making several circles around the subject.

So you take offense if I post an article from Media Play News - one of the few sites dedicated to physical media left, that states that Netflix rentals have decreased by 50%. Have I got that right?

Have any of you thanked me for keeping up the Home Video Sales Thread (HMM weekly/DEG quarterly/Nielsen Top 20/etc.)? NO. Well maybe you can do a better job than I did - I quit.

BTW - your post shows you are nothing more than an elitist. The old "mine is bigger than yours BS."

Perspective instantly.

Have no problem with the content of the post. The problem arises when all you do is post negative aspects of disc. Most here probably know the state of disc and how little new content there is. None of the nay sayers have ever produced a list of titles that should sell in big numbers but have not. Same for rental and Redbox executives pointed this out.

IMO, Bruce determined sometime back that his thread had lost its importance because of loss of box office power and just stopped posting. I pointed out sometime back that if folks wanted the info it was easy enough to click on MPN site.

Quote:

Wow, like I never heard that before. A negative rancher with just 17 cows will make comments like yours. A positive rancher with just 17 cows is going to try hard to learn what the rancher with 100 cows knows. And so it goes!

A rule of this site:
Quote:
If your only purpose on this forum is to bring negativity to the discussions or question Blu-ray as a format, then you are not welcome.
