Why would you want to turn off the soundbar manually, if it's capable of shutting off automatically when it's not in use? Does the remote control have an on and off button? If so, then just press the power button, and it should turn off the soundbar completely.

See if there's an Auto Power or Sleep Mode on the remote or unit, toggle through until it says Off.

No, that's not it. Does your remote have a button that says: Power or on and off? What is the model number of your soundbar, then I can Google it, take a look at the remote control.

it doesn't say power it's the symbol you would find to turn a tv off. also where would you find the model number of the sound bar on the sound bar?

I took a look at some of the RCA soundbar remotes online, the red circle button at the top left is the Power ( Off & On) button, and the model number is on the rectangular label on the back of the soundbar. If you still have the original box from the soundbar, the model number is on the box as well.

Perfect! The left button at the top is the "Mute", and the right button, with the red circle in the middle is the "Power" (On & Off) button.

There doesn't seem to be a way to shut of the Auto Power Off (it's not even mentioned on the manual) with the unit, I'd assume that it shuts off due to inactivity? All I can recommend is that you tweak the volume a few times every hour. It should cancel the shut-down.
