Anyway, Trudy Ederle was American, so Daisy Ridley will be using an American accent in this. She recently did one in a video game with McAvoy and Dafoe, and it was flawless. You can hear samples of it on YouTube, “twelve minutes”. It was so impeccable that people even complained that she sounded unrecognizable.

And at the BAFTAs red carpet a few days ago, Daisy Ridley already let it slip that she watched Boiling Point because she was “about to” work with Stephen Graham.

So that means filming should start real soon. It would be awesome if it could be ready to release by the end of the year. That would give us three Daisy Ridley films in the same year, along with The Marsh King’s Daughter and the indie drama (that she also produced), ‘Sometimes I Think About Dying’.

At the moment, I don't think Daisy Ridley is an unknown. She's still strongly associated as the woman from Star Wars. A bit like Mark Hamill, I know he's a big voice actor but to the general public he's just known as Luke. Daisy is trying, had two high profile projects, Murder on the Orient Express and Chaos Walking which didn't perform well. I had seen a test screening of Marsh Kings Daughter and that's too indie to make waves for her. She is good in it and sports an American accent.

He was a guy who made several failed attempts to swim the English Channel and trained Trudy Ederle on her first attempt. He was envious and sexist toward her,

I’m not familiar with the actress playing Trudy’s sister, but I look forward to seeing how the film depicts their sisterly bond. She was the one who encouraged Trudy to swim the English Channel, and she was the closest relationship that Trudy had throughout her life.

She was covered in a bunch of Jedi-like garb that hid it. But you could see it at times. On the other hand, I could tell Scarlett and Gadot didn't have the physiques for the characters they played, especially Kusanagi.

Closer than most other actresses, if she trained like that again, which is important. I didn't just randomly look up her exercise video, I sought it out after spanky posted another screenshot from Rise of Skywalker in his fanboying, which showed arm muscle that I had totally forgotten about as a hater of the movie.

I just saw this and it's easily one of the most inaccurate posts I've ever seen on this forum, which is saying something. The only ST actors who can be called household names are Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac who were already successful before the ST, as others have already pointed out.

Kelly Marie Tran is the only newcomer, besides Daisy, whose career has really advanced. I'd love to see the two cast together since a certain hack deleted their only scene together.

Curious to see how they pull off Trudy’s characterization. She was hard of hearing, didn’t speak much, and became more deaf as her swimming career progressed.

The film based on the book by Glenn Stout chronicles the daring journey of Gertrude “Trudy” Ederle (Ridley), who in 1926 became the first woman ever to swim across the English Channel. The daughter of a German butcher from Manhattan, Ederle was a competitive swimmer who won gold in the 1924 Olympics. She attempted to cross The Channel after first swimming 22 miles from Battery Park in New York to Sandy Hook, NJ, setting a record that stood for 81 years.

I think Tran mentioned she only wants to do movies with an Asian cast after SW.
