Why not get into separates for that serious chunk of money.
But 15 amps means 3 separate 5-channel amps, plus a preamp with 4 independent subwoofer outputs (XLR), Dirac Live, Auro 3D, and the kitchen sink. ...And few more interconnect cables of course.

I remember the Denon AVR-5805MKII weighting 97 pounds (US pounds)!

Sure the A1H is fully loaded with the latest and bestest techs., except for Trinnov Altitude 32, but separates would give you more power and toroidal transformers with more heatsinks and transistors per channel.

That Denon 5805 reminded me of the behemoth Pioneer brought out back in 2010 or thereabouts the LX90 aka The Susano, named after a storm god. It was a drool worthy amp at the time with a £5000 list price.

I wonder if anybody is actually still using one.

Anyhoo, the new Denon or Marantz line-up look pretty epic too. Just the older tech looked so much beefier.

Seventeen speakers (nine @ ear level and eight above in the ceiling) plus four independent subwoofers. A full 9.4.8 super living room surround sound system to watch Tron: Legacy in 3D Auronatic Dirac Live calibrated. All this from one microwave oven (A1H), wow!

It's not the weight it's the jam packed Swiss knife.
Most of the power needed is from the four self-powered subs anyway.
Get some with 3,000-5,000 watts RMS (class D) per sub times four and the A1H is good to go.

Just make sure your living room can accommodate 17 speakers and 4 subwoofers.
And ask your girlfriend (wife) that she won't mind first, because the coffee table has to go and there won't be much space left for the ornamental flower pots and the decorative retro lamps and the fireplace and Santa's stocking socks.

17 speakers and 4 subwoofers, 21 speakers total is strictly an overkill for a moderate home theater. It's so excessive that It's ridiculous! A person would have to live in a mansion and have a huge, dedicated home theater room to accommodate that many speakers and subwoofers... If it was for commercial use, I can see the point, but not for an average home theater. Most people don't have the room to accommodate a 7.1 sound system, lest 21 speakers!

Heads up, this receiver is not meant for the moderate home theatre nor is it for the financially constrained!!!

Absolutely; and the folks ready to install seventeen speakers and four subwoofers they simply don't buy a receiver, they buy a separate surround sound processor and amplifiers.
The average living room of folks here can accommodate a 50" flat screen with a soundbar below, that's it. The receiver is inside the powered soundbar that also includes two subs with a 4" diameter @ each end. Total cost of the home theater plus the screen: $399.99* (free shipping).

This Denon flagship receiver is for hard-core fun people who build a dedicated room in their garage. They have to sell the car to buy the receiver and speakers.
For groceries they take the bus.

It's all fun and Denon is good @ making kitchen sinks.

* Ok, I might have exaggerated a bit; make that couple thou, more or less.

Anyway it's a nice fully loaded receiver with all the goodies to make the kids happy.

Nice to see the return of the flagship receivers (although with silly pricing). I've been waiting on the new Classe Delta SSP to replace my SSP-800...which I'm sure will also have silly pricing.

Prices are up across the board this year ... inflation, recession, concession, parts supply, oil supply, economics during harsh times (covid), chips supply, cell phones, iPhones, electronics, jewelry, watches, toys for kids, cars for men, electric and gas, clothing, food, 4K Blu-rays.

This Denon top gun AV receiver costs more than many cars we drive and that's not including seventeen speakers and four subwoofers and all the interconnects and speaker cables (thousand feet). Also compared to the heavy weight of yesteryears the A1H is relatively feather weight...not even a toroidal and only one transformer.

Yes it's fun to have a kitchen sink and a wet bar in the living room, but it's also wise to have food on the table nowadays when the salad is super expensive and the cost of living rises with that salad. Buy the essential, food, and get the kitchen sink when Top Gun 3 comes.

Sorry I forgot to get back here to update the early launch of Marantz's new flagship AV10 15.4 Processor.

We received a very nice allocation early last week and I set one up in our new reference theater and the audio performance is exceptional!

Here's the list of equipment we have in our new high-end theater system:

- Sony VPL-XW7000ES Native 4K HDR Laser Projector

- Marantz AV10 Pre-pro a/v processor

- NAD 7 Channel power amplifier

- Perlisten R7t Towers, R5C Center, two R4 Bookshelf for the back surrounds & a pair of D212s Subwoofers (We'll be expanding the speakers to 15 Channels to take full advantage of Marantz's AV10

- All high-end AudiuoQuest interconnects and cables

This is a serious a/v enthusiasts Cinema system!
