Default How do DLPs do on power

So money is about to be a lot more tight for me so im considering options of replacing my computer monitor and my tv with a single lower power display. How do DLPs do on power? especially compared to say a LED TV. Also how do they do as a computer monitor, do i have to worry about burn in like i do with plasma?

and would this be a good one?

not sure about power consupiton. As far as burn in, you will never have to worry about that with DLP. As using DLP for a TV it's the best to me. All TV technology have there pro and cons but what I like about DLP is, for one it's the best for 3D blu ray(I am huge fan of 3D blu ray) second it's cheaper and you get a bigger screen. It's biggest con is you can't hang it on the wall but since you using this as computer screen as well that shouldn't be a issue to you

I have this model set, and even though I cannot vouch for power consumption, I think it is a great television. Blu rays look awesome, provided you are back far enough from the set.
Just ordered my 3D blu ray player and will get the rest with income tax next year.
LED/LCD or Plasma may be a bit better, but for my money you cannot go wrong with this set, especially for the price.

I've heard that DLP uses less power then Plasma and LCD/LED but, you have to consider the cost of replacement bulbs that will probably wipeout any energy savings. I'm not sure how long a bulb will last in this model but, my Mitsubishi needs a new bulb every 15-20 months. The 1st one only lasted 11 and a half months so, I was lucky that it blew right before my 1 year manufacturers warranty ran out. Food for thought.

Yeah that is true, but my 65 inch 3D ready with a four year warranty AND the calibration disc was only a grand. Bulbs for my model are about a hundred bucks. You still save because the price of a 65 inch plasma or LCD/LED is way way higher.
