I'm also biased because my favorite music group pays homage to the film in one of their music videos. (As well as: Ghost, Romeo + Juliet, Pulp Fiction, La La Land, Leon the Professional, Love Letter, and The Princess Diaries.) |

You have no idea how many titles I purchased this week. If iTunes continues their trend of discounting the same titles each week, I don't think I'll have to buy another movie again. |

In an effort to stir up a little conversation, I was wondering what Arrow titles you guys own and/or recommend.
I'm 99.9% these are all of the Arrow films I own. Surprisingly, I owned a lot of these prior to this latest Arrow sale. The bold ones are the movies I have seen. (As you can tell, I haven't seen many of them.) [Show spoiler] I thought I owned the Arrow edition of "Pulse" but it's the Magnolia one. I wonder how the two compare. On the subject of unwatched movies, I distinctly recall ~10+ years ago when I still had Blu-rays and DVDs, I went through each movie I hadn't seen and watched every single one of them. I found a lot of gems, but also a lot of duds (which I ended up selling, but that's a different topic altogether). More importantly, it made me feel like I got my money's worth out of the movies. I can't say the same about these. ![]() |

As long as you realize that the film was intended to look rough & hazy, it looks about as good as it ever will. What's more -- something I just discovered -- the iTunes and Movies Anywhere prints do not have the amped up blue levels that the Criterion Blu-ray shows. I wish I could take screenshots to illustrate, but if you want to see for yourself, compare the second screenshot on this site (of the preacher in the rain) with the digital version (approximately 40 minutes in). The difference is striking, with the digital showing the more natural browns & greens seen in other parts of the movie.

One False Move is $4.99. Buy it without hesitation and thank me later.
I bought it a previous sale and I’m in the process of watching it right now. It’s one of the best things I’ve seen in the longest time. |

Saturday came and went with no Princess Mononoke (or Ghibli title in general...) so I hope that today is the day, like every Monday evening. |

RE: Memories of Murder
Compared to the screenshots from the Criterion release, the iTunes release looks to have the same color grading. However, the print on iTunes appears slightly brighter. Take any outdoor scene, for example. The iTunes version looks like the scenes were shot a couple of hours earlier than the Criterion one, before the sun started setting. It's hard for me to adequately explain it without providing screenshots of my own. |

Society: horror conspiracy thriller that satires the wealthy. I don't think it's a bad movie but the ending may be grotesque enough to turn people away. Don't Torture a Duckling: run of the mill giallo film. Just bought Tetsuo: The Iron Man after hearing good reviews. |
