I've currently realized (some minutes ago actually) that I'm not very good at knowing and analyzing of remakes. The reason is that I have almost never played them.
So the question is: are remakes good or bad? Have you played any remakes which were better or worse than original games? |

I've always had a debate on Twin Snakes that I can't stand to even watch the psx original now that we've had the sequels for so long. I just wished they never changed the music or touched any of the voice acting.
RE2 was an interesting remake because the original was a staple of how remakes should be done right. with 2 they did a lot more then just change the direction and remove so much of what made the 2nd scenario what is was meant to be originally. I'm also quite dumbfounded that entering the Stars office has to be done via the women's shower room. :P RE3 is still incoming and I think they're going to do a 90% revamp on how the whole thing is handled. They already had the front area of the Racoon Police Dept and surrounding areas changed and where they are at present conflicts with the original RE3's layout to the point they have to give it a complete do-over. |

As for me, Spyro and Black Mesa had good remakes.
However, I didn't play remakes anymore, but I constantly hear negative comments about various remakes from friends. |
