I have the Toshiba 51H83. I love the picture quality. I would like a 1080P instead of a 1080i soon. However, Blu-Ray from my computer looks fabulous. Here it is guys. Tell me what you think? All of you have wonderful sets.

Default Sony KDS-R70XBR2

Installed the 70 inch KDS-R70XBR2 LCos in March 2007.
Selection process (in order):
1. Native 1080p. Decision based on future acquisition of Blu-ray.
2. Rear over front projection due to performance in mid level room lighting. Allows for discussion/game table area at rear of dedicated theater room. In darkened room, both work fine.
3. Value: Screen size and performance vs. cost.
4. Split screen capability. (college sports fan)
After almost two years, Blu-ray movies take my breath away. Performance is truly outstanding. Would buy it again tomorrow. Still the most bang for the buck.

Note: The theater room is on the second floor. Had to rent a lift and remove the window to get it in the room.

Hi,

I Have the KDF-46E2000 rear 3 LCD projection HDTV.

It's a cool TV, big screen at descent price for that time (1,200$ one year and a half ago in CANADA)

But it's the lamp life that kind a worry me and replacement price (300$).

But hey, by the time the lamp dies, maybe I'll change my TV.

It's great for sports and fast moving images too, much better than LCDs.
I originally purchased this exact model. I used it for about 4 months and loved the picture but decided I had room for the KDS-60A2000. It was a good excuse to give the 50"er to my parents. Have had my 60"er for almost 2 years now and could not be happier with it. Have never had any trouble with either the 50" or 60" model. I picked up a spare bulb that will work with either set for $100 but have yet to need to use it.

My bad it was the Hitachi 51F510, not the Hitachi 50F510
Stuff hanging off the edges like that is usually due to an overscan problem. I've got the same thing with my Mitsubishi WS48-413.

When you are watching a 1.85:1 movie, you should have thin black bars at the top and at the bottom. I don't, because the image is adjusted "too big."

To fix it requires access to the service menu. I have thus far (despite several codes being available online) been unable to get into the service menu on my TV. Then again, I'm not sure I want to, since it's very easy to mess things up.

I have the Hitachi 52inch 51F500 and have the same issue with it cutting off a part of the screen but only on some video games, not sure why.

I'm at a family reunion/ christmas gathering right now and the house were in has two rear projection TVs. They are both 720p and they are crap. One of them just shut down and won't function at all. I tried fixing it for at least an hour, but no luck.

I have the KDF-E42A10 LCD Rearprojection. I really like the TV, I have had it since January of '06. Got a real good deal on it. It can do TV broadcast at 720p and Video at 1080i. However I am now wishing I saved up more and got a full 1080p TV.

After I upgrade my HT I am going to upgrade the TV. Been looking into the Plasmas and I think I will go with one of those next. More than Likely a Panasonic 50PZ85u.
