Default Best way to connect 1 sub to a 7.2 receiver?

Just moved from a 7.1 to 7.2 receiver. On my old receiver I ran 1 cable with a y-splitter to the left/right port on the sub.

With a 7.2 receiver should I use the same single cable with y-splitter? Or should I run 2 individual cables from both sub outs on the receiver to the left/right port on the sub?

Use same connection as your other receiver. If you have a 2nd sub, use the other output of the receiver.
