Same here, I can confirm it working in late December but tried today and it just takes me straight to the iTunes music store page. I just recently updated to 12.9.2.6 but from the history looks like version number doesn't really matter when it stops working.

ive tried all the different methods in this thread, and they all kick me out to music section of store. (used iso, made iTunesinfo.xml on a USB, and tried lower case itunesinfo.xml on a USB)

yup, i even looked up the specific disc i was doing and used that information. same result. guess it no longer works (for now). maybe next itunes update will fix it..

*update 01/24/19

spent some time trying to talk with apple support about it on phone, they kept insisting any issue with movie codes should be handled by contacting the individual studio. refused to acknowledge or discuss the situation with XML discs not working for any studio.

* update 01/25/19
apple and itunes have ignored any questions directed at them on twitter about it. maybe someone else will have better luck than i have.

Thank you P W for looking into this. Shucks that means all my xml movies are wasted. Just wondering, are your codes past the expiration date?

apple so far has been stone-walling me with "talk to the studio" for any title brought up and insisted its a code issue and not an xml issue. even when presented with xml dvds that dont have an expiration date and are not used. maybe the next patch of itunes will fix it, the timing of the whole thing though (which appeared to have happened somewhere between 12/05/18 and 01/01/19) could mean that all xml codes are now dead. we'll hopefully know something official at some point?

Have you tried one with the actual disc that came with the movie? Maybe there's just an issue with the workaround tactics or something (or maybe they are deliberately blocking those attempts...)

I wouldn't be surprised, since they are so old and Apple never supports anything over 12 months old , that it was somehow broken either with iTunes, or on their end... (Or deliberately removed...)

the legitimate digital copy dvds are no longer working for xml redeems either. i'm not the only person to test a working valid digital copy disc and have it kick to the music screen. nobody has been able to redeem any type of xmls for the past month, over on reddit or here.

It's probably something Apple killed, either accidentally, or just assumed no one cared about them any more...

They aren't known for supporting legacy stuff.

You could try contacting the studio about it, see if they will give you a non-XML code. I did that with a Disney title not too long ago (October I think) as the only computer I had access to at the time didn't have a DVD drive so it was impossible to 'legitimately' redeem. So they sent me a 'normal' code. They may only do that once or twice though...

Is there a new workaround to this? I have a Disney Code I’d like to redeem but don’t have a dvd drive. Just spent an hour talking with apple just to get “sorry”

Call Disney if it's a disc you own (you will have to prove that). They should be able to help. Like I said, they may only do it once, so it's not a solution for all of them, but if it's a movie you really want, they'll be able to help.

If XML support has really been removed, Apple can't do anything, they have no control over the codes themselves. They won't admit fault either, but if it really was a mistake it might just 'magically' get fixed sometime in the future...

Expiration dates or not, I think all studios (and Apple) consider the old XML codes EOL...

nod. one of the users over on reddit got in touch with fox about his digital copy xml dvd not working. fox told him too bad, they shouldn't have been working for a long time.

update:
new version of itunes 12.9.3.3 is out, actual digital copy discs and xml workaround are still kicking to music screen on redeem attempt.

you could try talking with apple support about it, they've stonewalled me on 3 separate tickets i opened. basically been told to talk to the studio that owns the code in question. and apple support has avoiding answering any direct questions about xml dvds no longer working.

SD, always SD. doesnt matter if it comes from a bluray or a dvd.

* Appears the always SD thing is no longer true as of 04/05/19 - see this post

Now that it is working again, the ISO link in the first post for PC is dead. Can anyone upload it again?
