Default Sub output...

So, I recently purchased a Dayton SUB 1000. I expected it to have a little more output than my Infinity TSS450 8" sub, however, it doesn't seem too. I have to crank the gain and have it in a corner to get a fair amount of volume out of it when in stereo on my TX SR508...

Is this right or did I get a faulty unit? Is there something else in this price range I should look at?

Have you experimented with placement and phase setting?

Not extensively, in fact, I only tested it in one corner, which did help with output, and only on in stereo streaming Pandora

Be sure you have all speakers set to small in the receiver settings, crossover 80hz or higher. Also, check the bass level setting in the receiver. This usually goes from -12 to +12. If needed, increase it and see if that helps.
