Default Joi- BladeRunner 2049

Who here would actually purchase a Joi program from Wallace if it existed? I for one would spend up to $10,000 for a Joi unit... Having a holographic Ana De Armas running around my home in unlimited cosplay outfits while containing the entire knowledge base of the internet might would make me never leave the house. Don't get me wrong, I would bathe, shop, and go to work...but my free time would be entirely spent with my A.I. Ana...just saying

I'm not sure the point of Joi is for people to actually want one.

It's not, there is alot there to say about our current society, and while I wouldn't use Joi as a surrogate girlfriend, you got to admit an A.I. assist in the form of a Hologram is wicked cool ..and If your going to buy one, why not have an ANA

People just have not ventured into this category yet.

Given the unlimited potential such technology holds and man's fascination(!) with erotica content, I am CERTAIN that there are countless people with similar thoughts.

Such product may actually be helpful for some people and prevent violence.

Not too far, I'd say. MS's augmented reality has the capability and it is within affordable range! It just needs content. We know what drives video entertainment technology...

And not even just Joi, rather having an Internet that's interactive as an assistant like Jarvis from Iron Man or a non violent Hal from 2001 a space Odyssey...you come home from work and you have an option to change the temperature by saying," House, 67" or you come home and a voice asks if you would like to change the temperature. Automated doors and windows, television, lights, shower...reads you a novel, recommends an album or dinner recipe. Leads you through the process of the recipe, teaches you French or a dead language... Maybe it could have settings like sarcasm, narcissism, comedy, and the like.

I did see where they are giving Alexa a Samuel L. Jackson option other voices I would enjoy would be Tom Baker, Earl Jones, Sheldon (in character)

Default Would you buy Joy?

She's very cute and sweet but she's ultimately not real. So that would be a no.

I'd rather own a physical thing, like an android. It'd be less illusory.

to be honest, we're not far from that, now.

the the advent of things like the echo, google home, apple home products...you can just tell your thermostat what temp to be set to, turn your tv/ht on or off, automatically order stuff from your fridge, etc. hell, with the echo (alexa) you can have a semi-normal conversation. you can even say "call so-and-so" with your echo show and do video chat without having to hold a device in your hands. you can change the amount of light allowed in through windows with smart blinds/windows, we have smart doorbells/cameras...yep, not too far from it as it is.

i guess the next logical step is having an entire house being completely hands-free. and that means having it do the cooking, cleaning, and the clothes. of course there comes a line one can cross as to exactly how lazy they want to be. but the convenience is nice.
