Default Why no love for the TurboGrafx-16??

I bought this at TRU when it first came out and played Bonks Revenge to death. Sadly I gave it to my nephew a few years later.(My big regret) Ive thought about buying another one, but price is keeping me away. This was an awesome system and much better then the Sega Genesis I bought the week earlier.

Stupid me thought NEC stood for Nintendo Entertainment Center. LOL

Anyone own one? I never bought the CD attachment, but hear its a blast.

I always thought highly of the TG16. Underrated system. Limited selection of titles. I never had this console, but I did pick up the TGexpress with tv antennae. Still have it in near mint condition in storage. I always liked the design of this handheld. I remember there was a cameo shot of one in use of jason lee in enemy of the state.

Never had the handheld (I had the TG-16 as well as a Japanese PC Engine), but the Bonk's franchise was definitely a personal favorite series of mine. A lot of people didn't care for the pack-in game "Keith Courage in Alpha Zones" ... personally I loved it, and it was certainly far better than the Atari Jaguar's pack-in game of "Cybermorph." Yeeeeeesh.

By far the most underrated game system Evah!

Bought new when it was released in Canada for $500 or something. (I'm sure it was probably cheaper in US) I do remember Genesis releasing around same time.

I first played this system at a popular park in my area with rides & all that jazz. they had a game booth set up in a giant tent with tons of Turbo Grafx 16 systems months before NA's release date.

Sold me on it.

Unfortunately I lent the system to an old friend & never saw it again.

My new SEGA was collecting dust while I played tons of Turbo! Too bad Arcades were filled with SEGA games & none from Hudson Soft. I regularly check prices on this but brand new sealed is no where under $500.

Oh, never bought CD Add-on or their portable but not because I didn't want to. After time with NES & SEGA Master System... Was a breath of fresh games.. Graphics were real sweet too.

Probably my most missed retro console. Oh well, at least it is still out there.

Wish I could join the conversation, I don't believe the turbo grafx system ever hit the new Zealand market. My mst underrated system is the dreamcast. I adored that.

I was in college when the Turbo Grafx came out. I lived in a rental house full of guys. On top of the old console TV, we had a Nintendo, a Sega Genesis, and a Turbo Grafx. Times were good -- we played each other on the sports games until our fingers bled. The Turbo Grafx seemd to have the best graphics of all of them, and the games were these neat credit cards you stuck in.

After hours upon hours, I caved in.

Ordered console with 2 controllers (1 - New) with original box & all materials.

Not my image but for those that remember seeing this box?

Ordered these titles,

Neutopia
Splatterhouse
Victory Run
Vigilante

Played these before except Splatterhouse.

Great memories with the system. I still remember the day my bothers friend brought over his Turbo CD with Ys. Jaws were on the floor.
