Oh definitely! Watched the first film last night with commentary, the video is very good, quality is comparable to the Ringo films. I'll see about getting screens later today, unless someone else does. Commentary is ok, nothing special, but the one for the second film, which I'm currently watching, is much more engaging. The interview with the director on the first disc is also quite nice.

But how are these films compared to other spaghetti westerns?
Like i have read on the spaghetti western database site that these Sartana films get up to the sillyness of what the Sabata film had going on which i enjoyed quite abit.

But myself & from what i hear everyone else also does not like when spaghetti westerns get all silly & goffy when the later ones did.

Most of the films ive bought in this genre have been blind buys seeing as there not available or in bad quality elsewhere so i don't have a clue about these?

But Arrow pick great ones to release from the few i have from them.
But nothing worse if i get this 5 film set & end up not liking them what so ever.

Opinions people?

Sartana had mysterious "powers" and some tricks in the movies resembled the Steampunk genre. It was pretty original and unique.

Said that, the movies are brilliant.

IMO, you can also see the influence of the 007 movies. Also like many of the main characters in other spaghetti Westerns, the mysterious Sartana really is an anti-hero IMO. That said, while I've only watched the first two but plan on watching the 3rd one today, these films are brilliant and downright hilarious
Always so many BluRays. Never enough money.

Movies that need a US BluRay release: Roman Holiday, The Lost Weekend, Ruggles of Red Gap, A Night at the Opera,The Testament of Dr. Mabuse, The Naked City, Brute Force

Is the original Italian track the preferred audio for these films. Only curious cause Kinski is in one and wondered if maybe the english track features his voice.
Stop the Replacing of original Studio Opening / Closing logos! These are becoming endangered and should be kept intact. They are part of film history.

Got my SARTANA box set today from Amazon & just opened it. It came in a white, fluffy bag & when I took it out there was a small - very small - dent in the upper left hand, front of the slip. What really ticked me off is that my wife gets hardcover BOOKS from Amazon that come in a thick sturdy cardboard box that would easily accommodate this Blu-ray set. I first used Nova Media a few months ago and was very impressed with their product protection. Since then I have ordered several more items from them. I love that place!!! Wish BB, Amazon (especially Germany) & Zavvi would make the effort. I would gladly pay a little more & be assured of undamaged product.
I'm not going to send it back as the dent is almost invisible after I massaged it a little bit. If I wind up doing a review I'll mention their crappy packaging.
That'll show em.

Same crap shipping from Amazon (white bubble bag), but mine has a smashed top corner.
Guess I should send it back.
Sigh.

EDIT: Ordered replacement. We'll see if it gets here in better shape. Big sigh.

Very happy with this set so far! It's amazing the difference HD makes when you've only seen previous shoddy copies of these films. Definitely a winner, once again Arrow comes through on the Spaghetti Western front.

  • Death Rides a Horse
  • The Mercenary
  • Ringo trilogy
  • Sartana trilogy
  • Day of Anger
  • Duck You Sucker

I just need to pick up the Sabatas, Django, Bullet for the General, Cemetry Without Crosses, and The Big Countdown(which is the most expensive of them all). Any other big Spaghetti Westerns I'm missing that I ought to take a look at?
