Do you lot recommend Forbidden City Cop? I've had my eyes on it for a while, and I'm considering finally getting it.

I bought this one when it was first released and finally got around to watching it last week. Prior to viewing, I had never seen a single Stephen Chow movie. I bought it because I'm caught up in the frenzy of buying anything HK released by the UK labels. I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. Very wacky and fun. Chow and Carina Lau have a lot of chemistry and are great together.

The last two are blind buys (apart from the first TC). Very excited to finally watch 'Tiger Cage 2', I've also heard great things about '10 to Midnight'.

My order containing the 4k of 'Cannibal Holocaust' has shipped.

This was my haul. The sale discount was great, and with VAT removed, it was even better. 16 for shipping across the pond offset things a little, but overall, I'm happy with what I got.

Great selection. I'm surprised you didn't take advantage of their free international shipping. You could have added a couple of titles and not had to pay postage.

It's probably just DHL, which is a subsidiary of Deutsche Post.

It's Royal Mail second class erroneously stated as Deutsche Post, at least it was for me.

After much deliberation, I finally ordered my sale haul:

The Seven-Per-Cent Solution is a double-dip as I've already got the (unusually region free) Shout Factory disc, but the new extras were too tempting.

I bought Righting Wrongs instore at HMV with the 25% off Black Friday offer last week... wish I'd hung on now!

A few questions for all you 88films experts out there.

1) Do we know when the sale will run until.

2) What are the chances of getting slips on some of the films? Is it at all possible?

3) Any title recommendations? I want to pick up On the Run. I'm also interested in Heroes Shed No Tears. I want to expand into some of the Shaw stuff and early and later Jackie Chan- particularly anything that is modern (at least compared to the swords of marital arts).

Basically looking to pick up a mix of titles to supplement ones I've already enjoyed like the Shawscope Box set, and police story 1/2.

What are the essentials?

Thanks.

Going by your avatar and fact that you like the Arrow Shawscope Box I would say pick up more Asian titles. 88 has released quite a few.

I would imagine unless 88 is listing a film as limited you will not be getting slipcovers.

Finally put my sale order in, picked up;
Ebola Syndrome
Knife of Ice
Hitcher in the Dark
All Deceased..
Violence in a Women's Prison
Maniac
Blood and Diamonds
Flying Guillotine 2

Then I put a separate order for preorders;
Cannibal Holocaust 4K
Snake and Crane
The Iceman Cometh

I'll be buying myself a 4K setup for my birthday on the new year so I got CH 4K in preparation.

If a slipcase is in the description, you will get one.

There are so many 88 films titles allready out of print like most of the Slasher Collection. While older titles from Arrow for example are still available. They don't seem to renew their rights. So sad that a lot of titles never seem to re-appear. Or some other company must buy the rights.

What do you guys think? Gone forever? Titles like Just Before Dawn, Hex or Scalps.

I was trying to get a copy of Beyond the Darkness. Looks like that one is gone too.
