That's an impressive list and quite an effort compiling it yet another time. Thanks, MifuneFan!

I can't believe a title as essential as The Shootist is not yet available. Anyone care to guess how much longer we have to wait? Any rumors or a release at all? It's The Duke's final outing, ferr cripes' sake!

I'd love to upgrade both of those DVDs - to say nothing of The Alamo, The Train Robbers and The Sons of Katie Elder.

I love these threads about classic hollywood actors. There needs to be a place where we can go instead of looking for the threads.

One word...Paramount

I'm not a huge John Wayne fan but would buy it for Jimmy Stewart's 2 minutes of screen time.

Well damn, thought I had a lot John Wayne titles, now I see all I'm missing. Have 18, and will be at 20 soon. Didn't realize there were so many out there. I'm restricted to Region A unfortunately. Excellent Thread! Keep up the great work MF.

I loathe Rock Hudson, and the review pretty much pans The Undefeated. Anybody have anything good to say about it aside from the scenery?

The opening scene is really good. And who doesn't love seeing Royal Dano and John Wayne together! The film is certainly not one of Duke's best (lest face it, besides McClintock!, there was really nothing that Andy Mclaglen directed Duke in, that was anything of significance). But FOX did an incredible job of transferring the film to high def. That alone is worth the price of the BD.

Great thread I don't want every movie Mr. Wayne was in but we sure are missing some good ones. Hes last film The shootist is one of the finest films ever made why has it not been released? I have to agree with Duke 45 "El Dorado" and "The War Wagon". Are two great movies and they look outstanding on Blu.

Hellfighters - 8/11

I want to order that UK Circus World, but I wish there was a way to tell what the best version is, if there is any difference in them. There are no reviews or comparisons online that i can find.

I currently own 5 blu-rays starring The Duke. Stagecoach, Red River, The Searchers, McLintock! and The Green Berets (That one is courtesy of Best Buy's cheap bin.) Definitly going to purchase more when I get the chance. In the past year I've been trying to build up my "CLASSIC" BD collection and it seems I've been neglecting Mr. Wayne. My Grandpa and Great-Grandfather got me hooked on classics as well as the ones starring Marion Morrison (You see what I did there?) I remember being home sick from school, being sent to my Grandparents house next door and watching my first John Wayne movie, McLintock! I was hooked. Luckily my Grandpa had more of his movies on VHS to satisfy my appetite. I have a lot of John Wayne movies on DVD but wanted to get the blu-rays to enjoy. I'm really happy I waited til the newer version of McLintock! came out. Not only for the quality of the picture, but I enjoy the special features that are attached to classic movies. Like documentaries or sit down interviews with the actors, years after the movie was deemed a classic. It's nice to have my Grandfather come visit and we can sit down with a few cups of coffee to watch some Duke blu-rays. Looking forward to the rerelease of Rio Bravo, because that's another favorite of our's and I didn't want to overpay online for an OOP copy. Sorry that this is a little long, it's just that I wanted to share.

The Shootist would be great. Haven't seen it since its release.

I love John Wayne movies...have 15 so far on Blu-ray and 54 on DVD.

It is a pity they don't put his truly great films on Blu...

I would love to see They Were Expendable on Blu....

I recently started my John Wayne bluray collection. Only 4 so far. Hondo, How the West Was Won, The Green Berets, The Searchers. Really looking forward to getting more, especially some of his war movies like The Longest Day.

Hatari has a poor transfer? One of my favorites, that's disappointing. Can anyone expand on this?
