USA US Anime Releases Missing Extras

A while back I made this thread on Fandom Post (which first came about from a blog post I made on MAL) regarding missing extras, and felt like bringing it over here so more can see what extras are missing on various R1 releases over the years. The goal of this thread is to eventually be a comprehensive list of every missing extra and even DVD Easter Eggs from other releases.

Notes
  • Whenever ADV Films would do a box set release, they usually would strip the show of extras to make the singles more appealing and to prevent the "I'll wait for the box set." mentality that leads to less money. If the disc count was different from the singles, this usually meant the extras were stripped. If the disc count was the same, there is small a chance the extras were retained. A few examples of ADV box sets that retained the extras from the singles: Blue Seed, Chrono Crusade (Holiday Edition), Gantz, Jinki:Extend, Neon Genesis Evangelion (Platinum Tin and Holiday Edition), Noir
  • For stuff in a franchise never released before, see this thread (no longer updated but still can be useful).
  • At this time this thread will only be about DVD and Blu-ray releases, not VHS or laserdisc, the latter of which is harder to find info on as ANN's encyclopedia doesn't have those releases. I may include those in the future.
  • This thread will also include notable missing inserts (mainly in regards to cases where it's not obvious like with singles as opposed to say NISA Premium Editions vs. Standard Editions), not just video extras, but the focus is mainly on video extras and DVD Easter Eggs.
  • Links in this thread will take you to the releases page for a show here on Blu-ray.com (this is so people know exactly what releases a show has that I'm referring to*), and in some cases the actual extras being referred to.
Please point out any errors or omissions so I can add them to the list. This is still very much a work in-progress, especially as far as the ADV Films titles are concerned.

*Please note that at this time, Blu-ray.com is missing hundreds of older anime releases, especially DVD singles and the like. You can check the ANN Encyclopedia if you don't see the releases I'm referring to as they have a nearly complete list of every R1 anime release post-VHS era.

Good gawd, it was a struggle to put what I had already made on Fandom Post on here. I had to multiple times figure out where to shorten it so it'd fit within the 30,000 character limit... I'm not sure if 12 reserved posts will be enough... Maybe I should make the Blu-ray.com version of the thread a little different to save on character counts. Hopefully people that care about extras will find this helpful.

Anyway, I'm going to try replacing some of these ANN links with Blu-ray.com ones sometime tomorrow even though I doubt that many entries have been made. There's so many DVD releases missing, especially singles.

Gunslinger Girl Season 1 Blu-ray is missing the Building Triela Extra. Pretty minor Extra, but just weird when it has Building Henrietta and Building Rico but not for Triela like on Volume 3 of the DVD.

I don't consider this as big a problem as you do, BOA, but I applaud your effort

Love reference threads

I know Heat Guy J lost extras going from Geneon to Funimation but I don't yet have the entire Geneon set to list them all.

Yeah, on most FUNi rescues up until around 2011, they failed to get them, sometimes even the clean OP/ED (Ex: Ikki Tousen S1). Still need to get all of those, but thanks for the reminder on that one.

Has Funi ever had extras that were not in an older US release?

I think the Funi Season 2 of Kaleido Star is the only way to get the second OVA--I don't think any of the ADV releases had it.
