A bit cold. Not too bad. Back in my day it was colder, windier with more snow and we walked everywhere barefoot both ways. Kids today are soft.

How you getting by? Excited for Santa's big arrival?

I finished Foundation on ATV+. Stunning PQ with reference DV. I liked the show too. Looking forward to S2. Will start Invasion soon. There's a plethora of shows that just came out. Need more time.

Let me wish you a Merry

Welp! We didn't get any snow as predicted. I bought a 2-stage snow blower(I was planning to buy it anyway)
In preparation for this storm. Welp, the amount of snow we got was enough to be out with broom...

I almost wanted to actually be out sweeping the snow with a broom and have my neighbors peaking out thier windows... lol

Ok! Hear me out...
I ordered my drone on Amazon with expected delivery date perfect for a Christmas present to myself, buuuuut!!!
Watching too many videos and the wait started to become difficult. I canceled the order

[Show spoiler]i went to bestbuy and bought it

I almost forgot about The Foundation, and yes, gorgeous images. At this point, I couldn't imagine not having an OLED for these current shows. I'm glad I re-did the room when I did and it seems like it was the perfect time, but it was all for my PS5 gaming.

Default Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Hello Wabs!!

Wishing you and your family Happy Holidays.
I hope all is well and you're enjoying the sub-zero temps

We're having a heatwave on the right coast. A balmy 20 degrees with a high of 27!

Take care my friend.

Hey there, LDG. What’s up?

Hope you had a very merry Christmas. Santa bring anything fun? New 100” tv?

Yeah, it’s been a bit chilly out. I hear a warm up is on the way. Bust out the shorts and t-shirts. Fire up the grill. Although my grill is under 3’ of snow. Lol. Uff da. I’ve eaten entirely too many Christmas cookies. What can I say? I take one for the team.😊

The HBO version 'The Batman' popped up and I laughed. Did you ever get around to watching it?

I am looking forward to 'The last if Us', I have a feeling HBO will do a great job from the game story line. The game was really good, part 1 & 2.

Yeah, I watched the emo Batman when it first hit the Max. It’s a one and done for me.

I’m looking forward to The Last of Us too. I never played the game but the story is right up my alley.

You would be surprised at how many games have a hella of a good story line. Some of them, I know would make for a good series or movie, but a majority of them is simply just a game with a BS story.

You're to old to get into any gaming... lol

Lmao.....

Ok, ok, enough of that.

I see ole Henry Cavill is trying to bring Warhammer to the screen, and I'm looking forward too that one also.

Speaking of Cavil, did you watch 'The witcher' on Netflix?
The witcher was first some books then a video game, and now a series.

Warhammer will be good. Cavill is a big nerd and will make sure it’s done right. It’s not like he has anything else going on. Lol.

Yeah, I’ve seen The Witcher. Even watched the animated one. Haven’t seen the new 4 episode Witcher that takes place 1,000 years prior yet. Too much other stuff to watch. The backlog keeps growing.

Top gun Maverick was the last physical media I bought and it will be awhile after I get Black Panther 2.

It appears streaming is the king for now, and I never thought that would happen. It seems soo much easier/cheaper to purchase a year subscription to most of streaming studios. Hulu isn't my favorite as far as pricing goes, but my wife loves the shows. Hulu isn't giving year subscription deals and they cost the second most per month just behind netflix.

I no longer buy any Disney/Marvel discs. Disney+ with their IMAX Enhanced versions are perfectly fine. Plus this new phase of Marvel feels like playing side quests after you defeat the boss. I do still buy some boutique label UHD discs. The 4K War Games was my latest. It's a classic.

Hulu is our least watched streamer. But they had a black Friday special of only $1.99/month. Sadly it's for the ad tier (I hate ads) but it's $2.

Hey there. Yeah, the AV10 is pretty tempting. However, 1) I simply don't need that many channels, 2) not sure how much betterer it is than my beloved 8805 and 3) I really do not want to contort my arse behind my stand and disconnect and reconnect a new processor. I'm getting too old for that sh!t. With that said, never say never...

How bout you? Any upgrade plans?

Haha, THAT I completely understand...I finally just got around to connecting up all my surround channels recently and squeezing my fat ass behind my racks and arm-crawling on the carpet had me sweating like Shaq at the foul line.

I'm in that same AV 10 thread over yonder and saw your post, so was just busting stones. Eh, I dunno...I'm considering it, but that is a LOT of cheddar for the likes of my wallet. I definitely don't remotely need that many channels, but my Integra pre/pro is so long in the tooth that I'm itching to upgrade. Decisions, decisions...

A few years ago Shaq bought a new yacht and posted it on the tweeters something like "bought a new boat. What should I name it?" Someone replied back, "name it Free Throw, that way you'll never sink it."

Yeah, the upgrade bug bites hard and I'm low on repellent. It's the worse when you're chilling in your HT, enjoying a few cocktails and suddenly you develop an itchy buying finger. Repellent is nowhere in sight. Gotta hide my wallet. It is a lotta cheddar. Have you looked at any other processors?

Ha, ha...that's great.

Yep and unfortunately, I've got myself an itchy trigger finger for an HT purchase as of late. That might have something to do with my annual bonus being right around the corner. Nope, not really. I picked up a Tonewinner AT-300 pre/pro last year for the living room system. The price was most definitely right (~$1,500) and despite some minor quibbles here and there, it has done an admirable job and sounds fantastic in that 3.2 system.

For the basement, I might take a look at an Anthem pre/pro, but I've always wanted a Marantz front-end in the basement for that Marantz "musicality" and to also mate with the Marantz monoblocks I run in that system for HT material. I also feel like 15 years was a good long stretch to live with the Integra pre/pro and am ready for a change. Now, the question is, do I have the stones to pull the trigger on such a sizable purchase? Time will tell.

Hello Wabs. Just watched Jerry Jones cursing himself for paying Dak all that cheddar! But real talk, based off todays market value, he got off cheap.

Anyway, I want to slide in on the pre-pro upgrade bug convo. That new Marantz AV10 looks magnificent. The front panel is mesmerizing. 15 channels. I concur with the need vs want dilemma. Do you or will you use any of the additional features it offers. The 8805A is still a beast in its own right. However, $7000! That's steep man. I know you da man, but day-yum! If was an even trade or close, I'd do it on aesthetic alone. But, history has proven that if you do move forward, you'll finagle a sweet deal making the acquisition feasible. You are the acquisition sensei.

Who am I foolin'? I'm considering the Anthem AVM 70 to replace the Marantz AV7702 MkII. But like you, for what the Anthem may offer, the question is, will any of those additional features result in overall better performance? 8K resolution? Really? Where and when? Supposedly it has better DAC's across all channels, and of course, ARC.
The repellents are out in mass! For me, 4 grand is nuts! Let's not forget that understatement regarding the back breaking cable reconnect job I passed the "Too old for that $hit" phase a long time ago. I'm in the "I wish you would try that $hit" phase of my life.

It will eventually happen. More than likely, the upgrade will be subsidized by the IRS.

An itchy buying finger + annual bonus = lets go shopping.

Yeah, 15 years with the same processor is quite the run. People seem to be liking the new Anthems 70/90. Anthem has just never floated my boat. But that's me. I think you have the stones to pull that trigger. Or you can just say f'ck it and go all in with the Trinnov.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to use your drone to peak in peoples windows. Even in Michigan.
