Absolutely! The pain goes up as the price goes up. The most I've ever spent on a processor (with glitches) was half what the AV10 is going for. It was maddening enough at that price, and I imagine even more maddeningerer at the AV10 price point!

Glad to see someone from Marantz chimed in on the thread so soon after you reached out. Maybe you were the defining voice! Hopefully they find the cause and can apply a fix with a firmware or something.

Right and I've only gone a fraction of the AV 10 with my current/soon to be previous Integra.

Yeah, not trying to take credit (cuz I don't care, just determine root cause and fix it!), but I think that might have been what happened.

Hi all, Gary from Marantz here. Just a quick note to let you know that we're investigating this channel output noise issue and have not yet determined a root cause. If you're experiencing this issue, please do what you can to record the circumstances under which the noise appears and share that with us and contact your dealer for service or exchange.

Best regards,
Gary

For those considering this unit, a user over there posted this video of what it sounds like:

noise issue even mute - YouTube
Dude, that stinks. Did he say it is the surround right? If so, is it that same channel everyone is having an issue with as well?

I found his comment "I hate to return it" very much in line with yourself.

I haven't quite gotten to that point in the manual just yet, but from what I understand, you can re-assign physical inputs virtually to different speakers so in addition to physically swapping out cables between the AV 10 and the amp for different channels, I think folks are virtually moving those inputs around and the noise is traveling with it.

So, regardless of the input, you can hear the noise? That sure would make resolving the issue that much more difficult.

Yeah, that's what I'm understanding from the thread posts but I have not yet connected the unit myself.

Due to that type of crackling noise and the variance of the inputs, I sure hope it is not from poor soldering within the unit itself.

Yeah I'm hoping it's software and not hardware. Software isn't always correctable necessarily, but hardware problems up front can be an uphill only battle.

I hope not either cuz this thing is supposed to made in their top-tier production facility.

I find it hard to believe that they would not have somehow caught on to this issue prior to shipping them out. Is the 0922 date the first production run that was sent out for mass consumption?

Apparently the big update is coming tomorrow (March 15). New GUI and Dirac. May need to have your translator ring handy.

Ahh cool, thanks...I'm about 20 pages behind in that other thread and still need to catch up, but wanted to at least get mine current prior to the big update arriving.
