Default High temperature concerns

Itís that time of the year and I was planning on buying a blu-ray game disc from a part of the US where 90+ degree weather is the norm for the next two or so months. Should I be worried about the game being heat damaged on the way to me? It should be in a padded envelope when it arrives to the cooler US state I live in.

Default High temp

I would not worry to much however I am sure that there should be a contact number or email If the Disc doesn't work. But I think the Disc should be ok to play.

So if they ship it brand new, shrinkwrapped from a 95 degree Fahrenheit region of the US, it most likely will not be damaged?

I have had Blu rays and DVD's over the years shipped during the Summer months and have never had any issues with the heat. They discs would need to be left out at a very high temp to have any issues. So I have never been worried about the heat. Good Luck

Direct sunlight on the surface of a disc is the only way it would be damaged and it's obviously in a container inside another container, so it will be fine.

I have some personal experience with this... I bought a copy of this:

when I lived in Japan, for reduced price because it had been faded from being in a store window. Now I don't know if you are familiar with Japan at all, but it doesn't have the nickname "Land of the Rising Sun" for nothing. The sunlight there is intense. I had to use blackout curtains because otherwise I'd be up at 5am everyday. Tons of things in store windows were faded, and you could always find merchandise that was reduced because it had been faded out.

Back to the point, my copy of Only Yesterday... See how the color is supposed to be orange/peach? Mine is whitish. So it had been in a window for a long time and cooked for quite a bit, but the disc itself and even the plastic tray holding it are completely fine.

You shouldn't have any problems. There's a greater chance of physical damage in transit than there is heat damage.
