Which is hilarious because Fox started the “scandalous,” “boundary pushing” shows when they first launched in 1987. Now that has moved to their FX and FXX sister networks. All the while, NBC has gone further than Fox has for many of their shows.

I think it's because Fox tries to brag about being edgy where all the other networks just mature on their own without making a big deal about it.

And FX and FXX will become property of Disney!

I wonder if last night was the first time Brooklyn 99 referenced Game of Thrones.

I just started watching this show on Netflix for the first time this past weekend.

I love it. I avoided it because I've never really liked Samberg's comedy. But like the office, the main character (Michael Scott) doesn't have to carry the show. The supporting casts around Peralta and Scott are hilarious. That's why the comedy works for me. Almost done with season 1.

Captain Raymond Holt is one of the funniest TV characters I've seen. Glad you discovered this excellent show!

Ha! Can't believe we avoided it for literally the same reason.

First time I ever saw Samberg was in That's My Boy and I really despised the film. My mistake. Samberg actually did his best to save that giant turd.

I gave this show a chance and it's just brilliant. Samberg is one of my favorite comedians now.

I recommend 7 Days in Hell, Tour de Pharmacy and of course, his masterpiece, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.

Holt is great.

I enjoy everyone in the squad. Everyone brings something to the table with their humor. Also love how they keep referencing stuff from previous episodes. I was worried Boyle would be an oversaturated character where you'd get tired of seeing him, but the show sprinkles him here and there just enough to where it doesn't get annoying.

I'm about 1/3 through season 2 now. The show is really hitting its stride right now. Can't stop binging.

Also, Rosa and Santiago are

Hot Rod as well. Opened the same time as Superbad and was the much better movie IMO. Great cast in that one.

Oddly, I thought Popstar was garbage the first time I saw it, but then someone asked to watch it for a movie night in my theater and I thought it was genius.

I'm currently binging the series for first time.

And here in season 2 one of the first few episodes, Gina makes an announcement to the whole squad about her sleeping with Boyle. During her speech she says "the guy that looked like Tywin Lannister" when talking about her exes. So probably isn't the first

^^This!

Tremendously hilarious character, by far the funniest in this show and consistently capable of making me belly laugh.

Holt - 'Who says I'm interested in being commissioner?'
Jake - 'You did, the first time we met'

Flashback, their first meeting

Holt (monotone) - 'I am interested in becoming commissioner'

This exchange had me laughing for 5 minutes, just the very idea that it was the first thing he had ever said to Jake years earlier. Just had me cracking up,

Or they'll just get another dog and act like nothing has changed like most shows?

I expect at least a joke about how cheddar "went to the vet" or some such and came back a completely different dog.
