The OP's remarks on the PQ may be true.

Having a friend fluent in german translate, he appears to be *****ing more about the look of the film rather than the quality and accuracy of the presentation. He's *****ing it's grainy, and that it has a subdued color pallette

Default Master and Commander will destroy you

Perhaps the delay til February is to touch up the fog and other shots that didn't transfer well to DVD or the UK BD versions?

Dunno... Here's to hoping. I can't wait til Feb!

This is my most highly anticipated release - I got into Blu with the sole purpose of buying this movie (on Oct 2, then it got postponed - Growl.) So, I will be looking for a better look than the DVD, but the sound - the sound better be on point.

They may be pushing it a little.. i mean even the 1frs edition of Fifth Element, witch was UBER ULGY was better than the Superbit Version (Screencap from XYLON on AVS forum proved that).. so take it with a grain of salt..

No it was to fix some kind of programming error that gave a player fits

About the visible macroblocking during the fog scenes...

Were you watching the movie on an LCD monitor?

I don't think we will see it in february. A little over a month away and Fox still hasn't listed it anywhere. distributors haven't got any notifications yet. If it was a programming error I doubt it would take since october to get a fix on it.

If you've seen the DVD, the Blu-Ray is nothing different than having a better picture quality overall and a superb mixed soundtrack
