Default missing disc from Amazon

has anyboody ever ordered a Blu-ray movie from Amazon and when you got it it was already opened withe the disc gone. Well that happened with my mother yesterday. You wouldn't think nobody would want to steal this movie. It was about National Parks.

Did she buy it through a third-party seller?

I refuse to order anything sold by a third-party seller or "Fulfilled by Amazon" for that very reason.

Mine was actually direct from Amazon. I've never had that happen before.

Oh, well, that is peculiar.

At least, Amazon.com is always quick to rectify a situation.

Yeah, I got a refund, no big deal. I actually laughed when I opened the case.

I see the case is broken as well. It seems like I don't get a Blu-ray from Amazon without some sort of damage.

Odd, mine usually come perfect or near perfect.

Out of curiosity, are you a prime member?

I'm a prime member, and in general I get everything in good quality. Usually my problem is missing slips

I know I'm anal, so I just buy everything I can in-store, and order from Amazon on occasion.

I've purchased new release DVDs and blu-rays in the past that when I got home discovered that, despite it being shrink-wrapped, there was nothing inside. It's happened thrice at Walmart and once at Target. Thankfully, all four times they let me exchange it with zero issue. So, it does happen, unfortunately.

But yeah, if the shrink wrap is ripped off and no disc is inside, someone clearly took it. That's awful. I've never had that happen with online purchases, but I'm sure it may at some point.

Same. And price-matching Amazon at Target and Best Buy are always little victories added to my belt.

I think there is too much of a conspiracy mindset among some folks.

Accidents happen in packaging. Putting the disc into the case is still a manual operation. It's perfectly logical to assume that, once in awhile, the disc won't be fully engaged and/or a case will pop-open at some point in the process of packing at one of the suppliers. Just a rare accident.

I have 900 BDs. Most bought from amazon and I'm not a prime member.

I've purchased one Blu that turned out to be an empty case...and it was bought in person at HMV. Never had such a problem from amazon (not in 15 years if you include the 1000 or so DVDs I bought).

And I've bought plenty from third party sellers with no problem. Why would there be any problem?

People aren't conspiring to steal your discs. Amazon isn't punishing non-prime members. Third party sellers aren't running a scam. Really, how do some of you guys sleep at night if you believe the world is out to get you ?

I don't think anybody was implying there was a conspiracy. The number of posts in this thread should tell you that this is not a widespread problem.
