There is a big problem, though. I have been trying to make some purchases since earlier in the month and the B&N website throws an error saying it can't ship just about any regular Blu-Ray to Canada. I think something similar happened last year but not for every title. Tried talking to support and the solution they gave was to place orders by phone...

Note: 4K Blu Rays were shipped fine.

I am guessing a lot of people outside the US are going to become vocal about this starting tomorrow...

It's during checkout. I go to the cart, click on checkout. If there's a saved address, the error only comes up when trying to submit the order. Otherwise (trying as guest, for instance), as soon as I add the address it gives the error.

A few things I noticed:
- shipping fee is showing up as free when over $35, which shouldn't happen for international orders
- all these movies have gift option while the 4K ones didn't

At first I thought they had some distributors blocked (Shout, Arrow) but I also tried some from Warner and now Criterion.

I live in Australia. This happened last year, as well. I had to email B&N to explain the problem a couple of times before they rectified the situation. Persevere!

Just to update the situation, they did change something as now it shows a proper shipping fee and even taxes. However the error continues.

When you don't try to change the last used address, the site even asks for CC security code before throwing out the error, which imo is somehow worse but it's different.

I guess if more people keep notifying them of the problem they'll fix it.

I was told by a customer service agent that Criterions don't ship to Canada. When I asked "since when?", I was told that has ALWAYS been the policy. I assume this agent is the bartender from The Shining.

As expected, I've seen more people complaining online. I hope it's just a matter of time until the bug is fixed. B&N is losing money because of it, after all.

This also goes to show how bad their website implementation really is. How can they have this problem two years in a row, only this time it's even more restrictive?

Luckily this year I've had the great fortune to amass a lot of Criterions through WowHD, Amazon.ca (finally!), the 50% flash sale + $10 charter coupon on Criterion.com and eBay.

I think skipping B&N will suffice for me. Also, we don't know what is going to hit the channel later this year, there's going to be a lot of watching in my future

For those channel members, War and Peace and Swing Time are both streaming in July.

Also, while not the lowest price ever - Police Story 1&2 on amazon.ca is currently 47.53 - This release is pretty fantastic

I was lucky enough to be in Florida this week and was able to pick up Clouds of Sils Maria.

There have been some @BN_Care tweets today finally indicating they're working on it:

I hope they fix it for all titles and not just the Criterions.

Apparently Criterion orders are working now.

On the other hand, Arrow orders are not...

The Barnes and noble criterion sale used to be worth it years ago. Now, with how bad our dollar has been doing, I have no idea what's the point of ordering from them. It comes back to around 33 or 34$ for one movie...

I agree itís not exactly a steal but if thereís a criterion film or films you want, there arenít a lot of places to find them for less than 33 or 34 bucks.

I'd say buy one on wowhd.ca and use a 10% coupon and there you go and that's all year long. There's a few titles that are in the 40 dollars range so you might save a few bucks with Barnes but still.
It's all very depressing. A few years ago you could get a criterion blu ray for 25$ or so with the barnes and noble sale, everything included and now we're fighting to get these movies for nearly 35$ on sale.

If you're talking about the B&N Criterion sale, it started last week.
