For the few of us out there that enjoy the Resident Evil movies, the first one is on iTunes in 4K for $4.99. This may not be new news, but I didnít know the first had a 4K release at all.

Worth a blind buy?
It's a tough sit no matter how you end up feeling about it. If you are a fan of Scorsese then by all means go for it. If you're not or if you're only familiar with his crime dramas then it's most likely not a safe buy.

But it's only $4.99. That's how much a rental will cost you down the road.

What's the rule again for whether bundles will or will not give you all movies in 4K? If it's advertised as a 4K bundle it would seem pretty definitive, but iTunes allows no recourse.

Is anybody else missing The Dark Knight in their iTunes collection? I bought my copy from iTunes in 2012 and I believe it’s the old version without 4K since when I go to the iTunes Store to search for The Dark Knight, it tells me to buy the 4K version. Mine is missing in my iTunes library.

I'm also showing $19.99 in iTunes on my Win10 computer, even though I have the title in my library. On my iPhone, it shows as purchased. Also shows on my ATV4K under the "Movies" app and "AppleTV" app (under Library in side menu) as purchased.

Have you checked your Hidden Purchases? Not sure why it's showing as available for purchase for me on Windows. Redeemed 4K code from physical set on 2/1 according to my MA transaction history.

Since you purchased directly from iTunes, you should contact iTunes Support directly -- and they should fix it for you immediately. If you have Gmail, search your mail for when you purchased it. The email should also include the order number, etc. Alternatively you can bring up that information in your Purchase History (in iTunes on PC and Mac under Account > View My Account > Purchase History). Having proof that you purchased directly from iTunes will help them fix the issue you're having by giving you what's currently showing in the store. (They may have replaced the version you purchased back then with a new version that has a different movie ID now, breaking the mapping, which leads to it missing from your library.)

Or it's just under Hidden Purchases. Sometimes that happens.

Searching the Apple TV app on my phone it says I need to buy all 3 off the Nolan Batman’s, but if I scroll down in my library all three titles are there in 4K for me (I redeemed codes from the 4k releases).

With that said, if you don't have those -- or the Superman movies, this may be worth waiting for another drop in price:

On July 16, it was $39.99. The conversation that followed talked me into buying it.
Hmmmmm first I wanted the Batman Steelbook set but that ended up meh and not a fan of the price. Then I see all 4 for $19.99 in 4k in iTunes and man that’s a great price. BUT I didn’t even realize there was a 11 film bundle and I don’t own any of the Superman films. I’ve always been a physical media person but some of the deals are so good. I might have to bite. Thanks for bringing this other bundle up.

You bet. Keep in mind that it's actually 12 movies when you factor in that you get the Extended Version in the iTunes extras of "Superman: The Movie." If it drops to $39.99 again, that's $3.33 per movie. Not bad for a bundle that (currently) includes 5 movies in 4K, and a sh%t ton of iTunes extras, which was what sealed the deal for me. (Getting the three Prince music videos in the 1989 version of Batman.) Still haven't watched any of it. A blind buy on 8 of them for me.

Unfortunately there isn't a 7 film bundle of Superman movies so you could just buy the 4 Batman movies. Maybe someday...

Iím torn as I would like the Batman set, but also open to the Supes/Bats collection as well. The Batman set keeps hitting $19.99, but Iím holding out in hopes that the Christmas sale will go down to $14.99 or lower, but Iíll also wait to see if the other collection goes to $29.99 or lower at the end of December...

Only one thing is truly certain... I need to start stocking up on the cards on Black Friday!

On the topic of The Dark Knight... Mine are there and showing purchased on my phone, but havenít checked Apple TV yet.

Definitely check Hidden Purchases, but be patient - This could be another R.E.D./ Silver Linings situation and iTunes may just be cleaning it up. I know weíve seen these issues with Lionsgate films, but I could have sworn I saw this a while back before switching to 4K that it disappeared quickly, but came back.

FYI

Starting November 1st through December 31, Walmart will begin selling their 4-$10 pack of iTunes gift cards for $36 (10% savings/$4 off $40). Walmart usually does this every year and should be on special holiday pallets and maybe even a front register endcap. Blu-Ray.com is not letting me post pics, so I will try to add later. Not the best of savings, but itís something until the bigger ones show up.
