Tempted to pickup the Scream bundle - picked it up on a Vudu sub-account only to find out that only HALF of the movies were UV.

EDIT: Welp, it's finally time for iTune's Halloween sale. Lot of stuff for $4.99.
Evil Dead [1982] is a must buy for me to complete the set, but buy now or wait to see if the 4K upgrade happens and then buy at the last minute? Not sure if it will matter as it is not currently MA comp, but just thinking ahead to when/if Anchor Bay ever gets on board.

Shouldn't really matter because as you said Anchor Bay/Lionsgate aren't MA and there's no guarantee that if you buy a movie as 4K before the studio goes MA that it'll transfer 4K over HD, at least AFAIK.

Off topic, but what is up with the new Scream cover???

I already picked up Scream last year for $4.99, but for $5 more, I get the rest of the series which is well worth it since they're not MA.

Are you getting a discount for the prior purchase? My math says $10 more $14.98 total) not $5.

There are a number of Criterion releases that could qualify for horror that I wish were on sale. Typically, buying the actual BDs with all their excellent extras, are close enough in price to discourage ever being tempted by the seemingly static $19.99 digital price. FWIW, the Night of Living Dead BD is awesome, worth getting!

No, I would technically pay $14.98 total, but $3.33 for the three other movies, it's still worth the $10. Sure, it would be better without the first movie, but I can't win all the time.

yaaaaaaa I was hoping the Evil Dead remake would go to $4.99. 4K theatrical plus the unrated yay.

I'm thinking about getting the Scream set even though, like Allgood, I already bought the first for $5 last year. And American Psycho.

And does anyone have a clue if Hannibal on iTunes has the less-favorable video transfer of the US blu-ray? I've held back from buying that on disc because the UK blu-ray is supposed to have a much more favorable transfer and matting.
I'm tempted to get the SOTL and Hannibal two pack (4k Silence to compare to the Criterion!), but torn about watching something botched.

Can anyone provide any details about how Resident Evil (2002) looks in 4k in itunes. I normally don't do it but willing to do the gifting iTunes only route if it looks like a worthy upgrade.

I'm thinking of buying the Evil Dead 2 film collection. Does anyone know if Evil Dead 2 is the 25th anniversary edition with the better video transfer?

I second this question. Still the best film in the franchise, and Sony is top-notch with 4K so far. One would think this would be an instant must-have.

Lionsgate is putting out a 4K disc in November December, so it'll likely eventually get replaced by that, whatever it is currently.

I thought the same, but then saw that the first The Evil Dead hasn't upgraded to 4K in iTunes. So it seems hard to say what they're planning or able to do. If it had upgraded, the $10 bundle would be a quick and easy decision for me.

A bunch of horror bundles on sale. Of course quite a few where I just need 1 or 2 of them. lol
Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated for me! These two seasons sell for a goldmine usually.

I WISH!!

Still debating Halloween 1, 4, and 5. I have the OOP boxset and only watch them once a year, so...not sure it justifies a digital dip. Also, if I do VUDU's D2D on 2, 3, 6, 7 and RZ2, only 2 and 3 would port over through MA. And I STILL wouldn't have 8 or RZ1 in ANY digital collection. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT DOES TO MY OCD? Perhaps I shouldn't open that can of worms!

I might be confused here, there is a 99 minute cut of the movie as Undeadcow mentioned. I assumed this was the extended edition and the version on the iTunes store is just the uncut version. But I guess the 99 minute cut is another version altogether.

Got the Scream bundle, Evil Dead (already owned it but wanted it in 4K) and Resident Evil.

I might end up getting others as well but this has been a good sale.

Credit where credit is due: iTunes really did a good job with Halloween sales and promotion this year

Can't say that for previous years....

Hope we see similar promotions at Christmas!

Are you not even going to mention the Saw bundle?
Personally Iím only interested in the first and maybe the second, but $19.99 for all eight of them even gets my head spinning.

A lot of the new bundles from last week saw their price drop today ó Cult Horror, Horror Classics, Sci Scares and some more specific ones.
Silence of the Lambs has only once been down to five bucks, so $9.99 together with Hannibal is a good deal.

And in the midst of things there is Chicago: The Diamond Edition.

Yuck. One would hope that they are only seasonal, like Black Swan was last year. But then again e.g. Carrie and Childís Play have stuck with it.
I thought Fox was in charge of these badly done minimal art covers, though they too have retrieved from those of e.g. I, Robot and The Day After Tomorrow.

Iím pretty sure itíll happen eventually. FN got the 4K version just last week I think and Lionsgate upgraded American Psycho, both Punisher movies relatively soon after the UHDs hit so I canít think of any reason to assume they wonít do Evil Dead eventually.
