Default How many versions of one movie do you have?

Sorry if this has been asked before, what movie do you have multiple versions of, i.e. because it came in a steelbook and or multiple different slipcovers

Lord of the Rings I bought in regular DVD, then the Special Edition Extended DVD, and then the Super Duper Blu-ray set.

I bought three versions of Groundhog Day on DVD (initial barebones flipper disc, then special edition, then anniversary edition), then bought the Blu-ray, then UV version, then iTunes version. If a UHD BD comes out, I'm sure I'll get that too.

I think about 60% of my movies I now own on both DVD and Blu-Ray. Mostly because I made that many upgrades and just turned them into my own combo packs, but sometimes the DVD will have cuts or extras not included on the Blu-Ray.

Some of the biggest double-dips I have are:

Avengers: UK Steelbook Blu-Ray + US 3D Blu-Ray Edition

Battle Royale: Arrow Edition Limited Edition (UK Import) + US Complete Collection Blu-Ray

The Beyond: Arrow Edition Blu-Ray (UK Import) + Grindhouse Blu-Ray

Blade Runner: 5-Disc DVD with briefcase + 5-Disc Blu-Ray

Eraserhead: UK Blu-Ray + Criterion Collection Blu-Ray

Escape From New York: Shout Factory Blu-Ray + MGM Blu-Ray + MGM 2-disc DVD (packaged together with Escape From LA Blu-Ray)

Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Trilogy: Theatrical Blu-Rays and Extended Edition Blu-Rays

Gravity: 3D Blu-Ray + Diamond Deluxe Edition Blu-Ray

Halloween: 15-disc Blu-Ray box set + DVDs for Halloween 1 - 5, including the extended first movie, 25 Years of Terror documentary, Universal's 30th Anniversary Edition of Halloween II, and the Canadian Blu-Ray versions of Rob Zombie's movies (theatrical cuts)

The Hobbit: Theatrical Edition Blu-rays and Extended Edition Blu-Rays

Indiana Jones: Special Edition DVDs plus bonus disc from original box set + Blu-Ray Collection + massive Digibook for KOTSC

James Bond: 2-disc DVDs for all EON movies, 3-disc DVD for Casino Royale + Bond 50 Blu-Ray Collection, 2-disc Casino Royale Blu-Ray, Skyfall Steelbook, SPECTRE with bonus DVD (+ NSNA and 1960s CR)

Lawrence of Arabia: Limited Edition 2-Disc DVD + Limited Edition 3-Disc Blu-Ray with book and soundtrack

Lord of the Rings: 4-disc Extended Edition DVDs, 2-disc Theatrical Edition DVDs + 6-disc Trilogy Blu-Ray + 15-disc Extended Edition Blu-Ray

M: Criterion Collection Blu-Ray + Criterion Collection DVD + German Blu-Ray

Mad Max: Shout Factory Blu-Ray + MGM Blu-Ray + MGM DVD

Metropolis: Complete Edition Blu-Ray + Giogio Moroder Version Blu-Ray (in UK Steelbook + Kino DVD in a binder)

Mulholland Drive: UK Blu-Ray + Criterion Collection Blu-Ray

Nymphomaniac: Theatrical Cut Blu-Rays + Extended Edition Blu-Rays

Oz: The Great and Powerful: 3D Blu-Ray + 2D Blu-Ray

Red Cliff: Theatrical Cut Blu-Ray + International Version Blu-Ray

Salo: 120 Days of Sodom: Criterion Collection Blu-Ray + BFI UK Blu-Ray (+ Criterion Collection DVDs in a binder)

Seediq Blade: Warriors of the Rainbow: Theatrical Cut Blu-Ray + International Version Blu-Ray

Star Wars: 2-Disc DVDs for the first six, plus bonus disc from the original 4-disc box set + 9-Disc Blu-Ray Collection (+ The Force Awakens)

Terminator 2: 2015 Blu-Ray + SkyNet Edition Blu-Ray + Extreme Edition DVD + Ultimate Edition DVD + Premium Edition V 2.0 Japanese Blu-Ray

The Third Man: Criterion Collection Blu-Ray (Digipak) + UK Remastered Blu-Ray with soundtrack

X-Men: Days of Future Past: 3D Blu-Ray + Rogue Cut Blu-Ray

Zulu: UK Blu-Ray + Twilight Time Blu-Ray

There are probably many others I'm neglecting...

At the moment it's the Alien Anthology set on Blu ray with the Alien to Prometheus Collection. I am also looking at the 10 movie Marilyn collection from Germany. If I end up purchasing it, I'll have another double with the 4 movie Marilyn Collection, I purchased from UK earlier this year.

I try to get rid of the old when I buy the new, but I've had Top Gun on VHS, DVD, Special Edition DVD, HD-DVD, Blu-ray, and now the 3D Blu-ray. Not grabbing any of the steelbooks that have come out have been a challenge, but since they're not the 3D version, not that big of a deal.

Star wars trilogy on vhs Original, special edition(I no.longer own these). BOught the DVD set and now the blu ray. I've owned the Texas chainsaw massacre on DVD, ultimate edition dvd, first blu ray edition and the newest blu ray. I owned night of the living dead probably the most times: 30th anniversary edition, red box with grave artwork special edition, 40th anniversary dvd, colorized version dvd, shitty blu ray version and last: I spent like 40 bucks to import the happy times blu ray which I don't regret.

Only one and only if it's the theatrical version. I despise these idiot directors that wish to rewrite history by releasing directors cuts, alternate endings, extended versions, or forcing you to buy a directors version to get the theatrical version, like with the Exorcist.

Too many of some, but probably only about two versions of any given movie on blu-ray. (Mostly just one though!) It's mainly because of Fox and their insane re-releasing of every last title in their catalog with a new slipcover. If we're talking other formats too, that would be a different story!

I have a VCD, VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download of Aliens. And now that I finally bought the Anthology yesterday, I own another copy, although I'll end up selling the single-release BD cuz I don't need to have both BDs.

I also have three VHS sets of the Star Wars OT, two DVD sets, and the Complete Saga BD set. Also VHS, DVD and BD (from the Complete Saga) of Phantom Menace.

But Aliens still wins haha (EDIT: remembered that I also have the Zavvi Steelbook of this on preorder lol)

OHH and I have three different BDs of Casino Royale (original, CE, and Bond 50, and I had a fourth that came with the Craig Steelbook but I gave it to a friend cuz I didn't need it), and I have it on UMD somewhere haha. Weirdly I don't think I ever had it on DVD though.
