Well, that depends.

Go for 3D if you prefer to watch films in 3D or go for 4K if you prefer them to look flatter than a pancake.

i would get the 3D everytime, especially since i liked the first one in 3D and i can't imagine this one having worse 3D
seeing it without the 4DX effects the movie is built around will already be a big enough frustration ^^

The movie was "bulit around" 4DX? Yeah, right.

Granted, 4DX would probably provide constant distractions away from the movie itself.

"Not sure. I was blasted by a shot of air, got water on my glasses, then was temporarily blinded by some strobe lights while I was almost tossed out of my seat. I doubt it, though. That would make no sense."

the studios are working with the people who make these 4D things
some directors embrace it (the director from guardians of the galaxy 2 was involved in the process) but i think that now every big movie thinks about it when designing the action scenes
i noticed it in recent movies

Has anyone else had problems with the discs playing? I ordered from Amazon and the 2-D disc did not play (went to the menu and then wouldn't play the movie) and got a replacement disc that did the same thing 3-D plays well.

Lots of people including in this thread -- esp on Sony players (esp PS3 and PS4), but OPPO also having issues

Turn off BDLIVE in the menu then restart seems to be work for most people

Joe be advised like other members of the board the 2d disc doesn't play in my machine. It stops dead during the opening Universal logo. Some people say disable BD live when it is offered on the screen initially. My PS3 doesn't offer me that option. Thank god the 3D works fine.

If comparing the 3D in Fallen Kingdom JW to the first Jurassic World, there's definitely a step down in the strength of overall 3D to the conversion here for much of the sequel, which was disappointing. It's unfortunately not the same quality of 3D, but still a bit better than most of Solo's 3D.

Agreed Dartfrog. Watching one of the strongest 3D film conversions as the high standard for 3D conversions, like Infinity War or Ant Man and the Wasp 3D, and then comparing it to another 3D converted movie to see how they compare, helps to keep things in perspective. By doing that, it makes Jurassic World 2's 3D look milder as it is. And the 3D in the sequel doesn't match the consistency and better 3D of Jurassic World 1.

Ranking of recent 3D conversions:
Avengers Infinity War 3D: Mostly high medium to strong 3D throughout.
Jurassic World 1 3D: Medium to strong 3D layers.
Jurassic World 2 Fallen Kingdom 3D: Mild, low medium to medium 3D layers and hardly any strong 3D.
Solo 3D: Mostly mild 3D. Rarely any stronger 3D.

My favorite 3D shot in JW2 was when Ron Howard's daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard (who will be in JW3 around 2021), was facing away, looking into the control room through the window to the dinosaurs below. That shot stood out really well, but unfortunately, many shots throughout this movie weren't as consistently good.

I'm returning to Amazon for a replacement, but I was just wondering if anyone else had any problems. It's the first time I've ever seen a blu-ray just stop at the beginning like that.
I saw another customer complain about this on a review site but havent tried myself.

I think you can disable BD live from the system menu before putting in your disc. Or just turn off internet from your system when you want to watch this disc

On any other disc my PS3 asks me whether or not I want to activate BD Live. This one does not. I informed Amazon and they gave me a partial refund.

Hi jt,

Thanks for the suggestion. If I have a problem, will also contact Amazon.
