Finally some more action in this thread! Now if only it could match the Polk thread.

They are great speakers and yes, they are Danish. And unless I am mistaken, they are the number one speaker manufacturer in Europe. In addition to Energy and Jamo, Klipsch also owns Mirage. Quote:
Sound wise though they are pretty similar. Both are warm sounding (as are all Jamo speakers), I've listened to both towers for hours with music with no fatigue. I've yet to really crank the S series yet as my fronts though. The dual 8" woofers of the E 680 produce more bass than the S 506, but I think the bass is tighter with the 506. I also was using floor spikes with the S series, so that might have played a part in it too. I'll try to get a movie in tomorrow with the 506's up front and I'll let you know more afterward. Quote:
I have the S 500CEN, which according to a spec sheet I tracked down (as well as the manual that came with it) is identical to the S 60CEN. If there is a timbre difference between the two, I can't hear it. They sound very good together. Also, wwstereo can order E 680's in Dark Apple. They take about two weeks to come in, but it is a beautiful finish. They can (or at least used to be able to) get the S 60CEN in Dark Apple too. Quote:
See my quick review above for my thoughts on using the S 60CEN with the E series. |
