I wanna raise my towers about ten inches, but risers are expensive.
My center speaker would be pretty low compared to the other speakers. Inside a TV cabinet, center of the speaker only 17 inches from the floor. I hope it won't create too much of a disparity. Last edited by Bn43; 08-25-2020 at 09:51 PM. |

I have used those 1 foot high plastic step stools you get from a hardware store for my sub and no problem there. You could use those stools for your speaker if they fit the top of the stool which is almost a foot square,a bit longer one way.The stools cost about $10 Canadian a few years back.I have about half a dozen of those stools, they stack, are lightweight and easy to move and they will support at least 200 lbs.Or bricks stacked,or cinder blocks,or small end tables.Have fun.I had to tilt the front of my center speaker up in order to have it pointing at my face.I use rubber door stops for wedges that will tilt objects like speakers.Good luck.

One size doesn't fit all, though. Not every couch (or bed) is the same height. Besides, my surrounds are towers too, and I read this morning that surrounds should be slightly above ear level.

You can use tower speaker as surrounds but It's not necessary because, the surround channels are not as active as the mains. You could've use a nice pair of full range bookshelf surround speakers, and put them on a stand.

The surrounds were for a short time my mains and I didn't want to go through the hassle of getting stands or drilling/installing mounts at the time (when I still had the return window). |

I found a few square planters at Walmart that matched the color of my speakers and the size. They were about 12.00 each....Found them on clearance. They stand about 11 inches tall and my Jamo's have been on them with no issues since I got them over a year ago.
