Speaker Help/Questions

Hi, I'm interested in speakers for the left and right front. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations on these? Thanks for your help

What will the speakers main use be?

I only heard the Kefs and the first Gen Elac Debut but I read the 2nd gen is quite an improvement.
As for the Kef they are neutral with a tad of brightness but never overly bright and they still sound very neutral and musical and not at all clinical and are a very good value in that price point.

I like what I read on the CCB-8 but I never heard them, I do like their design and if you are going to use some relatively conservative electronics thse might be amazing speaker considering their 8 ohms load and 94 db sensitivity.

Hi, thank you for letting me know. These will be mostly used for movies. I haven't bought any home theater equipment in about 15 years. So, I want to upgrade everything. I'm thinking about getting 3 CCB-8 for center, right, and left. One person in my family doesn't like things overly loud or intense. Do you think it work just to have those three and nothing else?

Having only the front 3 would totally work but not because you would have 5 speakers it would be louder but it would just redistribute the surround content to where it belongs basically and at 94 db sensitivity bet those will sound great in a HT setup.

I am thinking start with 3 and see how you like it and go from there, anyhow with the Atmos content today people can go crazy on speaker configurations. I really love the Rosewood finish on them, a little more expensive but I am sure they look great. It has also been said they sound really musical and quite warm so for me they would have my great consideration in a blind buy.

Of course the ideal thing is always to audition when ever it's possible but we do not have all this chance.

Would I need a subwoofer or would those three be fine on their own? I don't know much about home theater, luckily TVs are easier to decide on. Would an amp or receiver be better?

Out of those, I'd go with the HSU. The KEF, Elac, and RSL's are not terribly sensitive. What are you powering them with? You'll need a receiver if you don't have one. Since receivers are more likely to be replaced without 5-10 years as new features are introduced, I wouldn't put a ton of money into them. Speakers will last longer if well maintained, so put your money there. If you're only going to run 5. Also, do you have a budget?

Agreed with you all those receiver would be great to drive any of the higher sensitivity speakers such as HSU and Klipcsh

For my part I would go with the CCB-8 3.0 package for now and add a sub to it they are the better speakers of the 2 HSU OP proposed.

How do you feel about the RSL CG25 and HSU CCB-8? My budget is $1500-$2000. Are subwoofers and amps necessary?

I think the HSU's are the better speaker. More sensitive as well, means less power needed to drive them.

You will need a receiver to power the speakers. I would recommend Accessories4Less, as I linked above.

I would go for either a 3.1 or 5.1 package HSU Hybrid 2 MK5 set. You could go 5.1 and still have $500 left for a receiver, which is more than enough.

Haha That budget went away quickly. I know I can get away with cheaper stuff, but I would rather buy more expensive products now than upgrade later.
