good read, I did not think bose was that bad. On another site I frequently post on (cnet) we hate bose, a lot, one of other frequent posts got a chance to take a bose speaker apart, he said they did not even solder the wire they just twisted the wire & it was loss.

Sorry to tell you this, but you're right. Bose is absolutely awful, sonically. Boomy bass, a distinct lack of midrange, and pinched treble that sounds " crystal clear?"

Bose does have the biggest marketing budget and sales system in the US. How often do you see their competitors open their own stores or advertise as much? Bose requires in-store retailers to have one of the two approved showroom setups mentioned to audition product. They do everything they can to not be directly compared with the competition including side-by-side A/B comparisons and the publishing of real specifications. It's all done to keep the Bose myth alive. It's been known throughout the industry for YEARS.

Do this, if you still are in denial. Go out to a few real audio shops, not Circuit City or the like, but true hi-fi shops that carry both Bose and other brands like Paradigm, B&W, Monitor Audio, or Def Tech. Tell them you're interested in buying a new setup and ask them if they'd recommend Bose or something else for good sound. You might be surprised at the responses you get.

Your first challenge will be to find real hi-fi shops carrying Bose. If you have a Magnolia Hi-Fi around you, give them a try.

He's apparently satisfied with his purchase and blind/deaf to any factual information presented that portrays Bose in a negative light (which is any scientific, factual piece of information . . . odd ).

i can honestly say a few years ago i went to the bose store got a private demo sitting in the sweet spot and i didn't think they sounded good, end of story

I wonder what happened to them. I remember 10 years ago all the talk was how good Bose were. Now you have to talk people out of buying them. I had to do that with my dad 2 years ago.
