Default Question About Digital Codes

So I have a couple hundred unused bluray digital codes and I was going to take them all out of the cases, list them, and start giving them away instead of letting them go to waste.

I notice that a lot of them have 'Expiration' or 'Guaranteed to Work by' dates on them. Some of them 'expired' by years.

I've seen online that a lot of them are supposed to work even past those dates. Is this correct or nah? How do these expiration dates work? Anyone here have any experience claiming expired codes? Does it depend on the studio?

Are any of the claim websites just dead? (I see Ultraviolet, Flixster, MovieRedeem, MoviesAnywhere, UPHE, etc in the codes I've checked)

Don't want to waste all that time if 99% of them won't work.

I think considerably more than 1% of them will work, and you could always do a disclaimer that they may not work.

IF they are from a Movies Anywhere supporting studio (Disney, Fox, Sony, Warner Bros, Universal), you can enter the code into Movies Anywhere LOGGED OUT, and it'll tell you if it's still good. If you're logged IN, it'll give you the movie, and then you can't give it to someone else.

Many will redeem beyond expiration date especially Movies Anywhere and UPHE. Offer them up "as is" and whoever gets them will have to figure out how to redeem. There are some around here that still redeem titles that used to require inserting a disc to work. Thanks for your willingness to help others, but understand you don't have to do everything for them for something that is free. It'd be different if you were selling them.

Honestly, UPHE is probably the most likely to have expired codes.

Of course, they usually still redeem in iTunes, but they are officially "expired" by Universal. I'm not sure if any other studios have "expired" any old codes.

99% of the time all you have to do is look up the redeem site for the studio. So Universal, Disney, Warner, Paramount, Lions Gate, Sony, Fox, etc all have different ones that have changed through the years.

Older releases by Universal also while they may not be valid on UPHE may still work on itunes. Universal codes also can be used twice, once for itunes once for other sites.

Paramount codes can also be used twice, once for VUDU/Fandango and once for iTunes
