Will definitely want to see this one in 3D. Should be awesome! The first trailer was certainly exciting to see this morning.

Looks really good despite me not liking ScarJo or the Black Widow character.

Any Marvel 3D movie is a must-buy as far as I am concerned, and a must-see in general. Should they stop releasing them on 3D Blu-ray, I'll stop buying them new, it's as simple as that.

2D versions of Marvel movies are super-cheap to pick up used, the 3D is what really adds value and Marvel aren't so stupid as not to realise that.

I don't like any of the 3D in phase 1 apart from Avengers.
The 3D in Phase 2 is better, especially Guardians of the Galaxy.
The 3D in Phase 3 is where Marvel comes into its own. That's when the 3D goes from being good to being reference quality.

I actually think the 3D is impressive in pretty much all the MCU entries save for the first Thor film. I believe that is the only one that wasn't made with 3D in mind.

I'm talking about the difference between an 7/10 conversion and a 10/10 conversion.

No one is going to tell me that Thor 1 has better 3D than Doctor Strange (for example).

The conversions certainly do improve as the years go by, so Black Widow will no doubt look spectacular despite probably not utilising pop-outs as much as it should. But Thor still looks good to me in 3D, far better than it does in 2D.

The 3D is really soft/mild in Thor 1. Hardly anything jumps off the screen.

I caught the trailer for Black Widow in IMAX 3D with Rise of Skywalker. It looks fantastic, plenty of separation, even some pop outs when Natasha is skydiving through the air surrounded by debris.

Marvel's been in the habit of releasing a few of its non-flagship films in only IMAX 2D stateside (Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Ant Man and the Wasp), so here's hoping they follow thru with the trailer and actually release Black Widow in IMAX 3D.

Hoping for IMAX 3D and a 3D Blu-ray steelbook edition. This is one of my most anticipated films of the year (although I am more excited for Wonder Woman 84).

I'm very excited for this, and the Marvel 3D conversions are often excellent.

I certainly felt that the 3D in last years Spider-Man Far from home which was a conversion, was better that the natively shot Gemini Man.

Interesting. What did you find better about the 3D particularly? Camera movements, editing, framing, lens choice or the amount and consistency of Parallax?

Cool

The 3D from the trailer looks great on my TV:
Too bad it's dubbed in the Russian language.

Well obviously its subjective, but for me I felt Spider Man made the best use of 3D in a live action film last year. Its overall use throughout the film felt well composed adding to my visual enjoyments of the film and consistent - it still very much made use of 3D even in pedestrian talking head scenes.

I don't particularly see nativity shot 3D as being 'particularly' better these days - I find a good conversion stands up and reading articles about how it is done these days shows it pretty sophisticated. Far more important is how the film is shot - is it too dark, is it cut too fast - and is the 3D adding something to the visual experience that would be missed in 2D.

First time i really noticed this was in 2016 - X-Men Apocalypse was the only natively shot 3D live action film (by an experienced director who likes 3D) yes i certainly felt that Doctor Strange was a 'superior' 3D film - again shot by a director who likes 3D even though it was a conversion.

(although I'm not sure what i could about the lens choice that related to the 3D? Does a Cook 35mm T2 lens look noticably better or worse than an Arri 47mm T1.8 in 3d )
